What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
I have a physical with my PCP tomorrow, I am going to see what she says. When I brought it up with the NP and Dietitian at my surgeon's office a few weeks ago I just got the "You don't meed to lose anymore weight anyway" speeches. ugh
I have had a few days that I have had 1,000 calories, but even then I can't see how I would gain on that amount? I don't know...
You have been under an enormous amount of stress. I wonder if that can cause a stall even if you stay under 1000 calories? I'll do some Google searching at lunch time to see if I can find anything. That 4 lbs could be water, since it cycles with your hormones.
Definitely ask your PCP. Mine is awesome and even though he's not my surgeon, has always been supportive and listened to me if I have problems. He's the one that talked me into RNY when I wanted the sleeve.
Yeah this up, down, up, down crap has started since we moved in with my parents. I mean I KNOW that the 4-6 lbs could be water weight from my cycle, but it doesnt go away like water weight. I have to work and work and work to get it off. By the time I finally do get it off, it is time for another cycle!!
Morning AV. I had a good weekend, spent lots of good time with my kids and hubby. I ate out way too much, though kept it to healthy options. My problem was not eating out, but experimenting with cooking things. I made some homemade crab rangoon last night, using splenda to sweeten the filling instead of sugar. I baked them in the oven instead of frying them, so they are pretty decent overall. BUT... I LOVE THEM! I ate way too many last night, so I had to make sure that I didn't bring any to work today.
I go back and forth on different foods all the time. I made quiche last night with ground beef, green chilis and cheese, and tried it this morning for the first time. They didn't sit well in my pouch at all. I don't know if it is the beef, or what, but my pouch was bubbling and rolling for about 15 minutes afterwards. Maybe too much fat? Hmm. ground beef has been an issue for me, as has ground turkey. I used to be able to eat deli meat, and now it makes me gag. Nothing makes me puke though, I've puked maybe 3 times since surgery and that was always when I got something stuck and I made myself puke to clear it. I hate puking and avoid it at all costs.
Hubby is gone again today. This time he's in San Antonio and Houston, he'll be flying home tomorrow afternoon. I look forward to having fish again tonight. He hates fish, so I don't cook it as a dinner unless he's travelling. My oldest loves seafood, and always has. So tonight I'm making baked cod. I hated baked fish before surgery, I wouldn't eat it unless it was fried with a crispy batter. Now I'd rather have the baked fish.
Here's what's cooking:
Almost 6 months since surgery
B: beef and cheese wonton quiche and coffee with 1 cream and 1 splenda. 261 calories
L: 3oz rotisserie chicken and a romain salad with cukes and skinny girl dressing 185 calories
D: baked cod with steamed broccoli in a light cheese sauce (green giant steamer) 149 calories
S: 1 crab rangoon, light and fit yogurt with 1/2 oz nature valley protein granola. 192 calories
Totals:
Calories 787 Protein 78 Carbs 46 Fat 33
Now, I just have to be strong and only have 1 crab wonton thingy tonight. They are 59 calories each and only 2.5g protein, so not a really good protein forward option.
I think I've only thrown up 2 or 3 times since surgery. I do get that saliva production overdrive feeling you get right before you throw up, though. Like yesterday morning after I had my stupid egg for breakfast.
