HELLO

I'm a newby. I have come questions for people that have been through this. I had surgery on 12/30/15 I was released on 1/1/16 everything seemed fine I woke up on 1/4/16 with a pain in the center of my chest I assumed it was just gas. I called the surgeon wile on the phone with them my pain went through the roof. They told me to go to the er immediately. When I got their they started me on pain meds. But they wouldn't stop the pain. Finally they did a ct scan and found a gull STONE which was blocking the bile duct.

I was transferred to a bigger hospital when I got their they told me they was going to place a drain on my gull bladder to lessen the pain and lower the pressure on the bile duct. Which worked very well. After that surgery I was told I had a hole in my gallbladder and they found a abscess on my gallbladder along with pancreatitis. I left the hospital on 1-8 with a drain bottle.

Everything was going good. On 1-18 my doctors decided they was going to push the gallstone through and remove my drain. Which they did. I went home that day around 12:00 feeling better. Later that day my pain came back I went to the er they decided my pain pills just wasn't strong enough so they sent me home with a stronger perception. I made it till the next day. Then the pain was too much to handle. I went straight to the bigger hospital where my surgeon met us. After more test they decided the pancreatitis was back and the pressure was again to high in my bile duct. So I went back in to surgery to reinstall the drain. Which is helping now.

I was wondering has anyone else ever had these issues? Is their something I am doing wrong? Please excuse the spelling and grammar. I'm still a little drugged.

Gallbladder issues are very common. A lot of people have theirs out during weight loss surgery, sort of a two-fer. And anyone who loses a lot of weight, WLS or not, is more apt to have gallbladder trouble.

Have they talked about just taking yours out?

I tried to get them to take out my gallbladder the day of surgery. They told me it was working great and their was no need to remove it. After the stone the told me they couldn't remove it till I had heal up from RNY surgery before they could do the gallbladder.
