What's on Your (photo) Friday Menu, RNYers?
Thank you for responding to my question laura. I'm currently at 166 and would like to get to 125. I also thought 1300 sounded crazy. I do religiously weigh and measure everything. My weight loss is creeping so slow like 2 pounds per month :( I'm not sure what to do
i super love photo friday you guys are amazing people. i forgot to answer the question. TEXT all the way. talking to me on the phone sounds like someone with turrets syndrome at a daycare of unruly children. if you are a super close friend i dont mind if they dont mind but anyone else please text and as said above the peeve of a voicemail that says hi or its me lol. silence ...i kill you
I so agree with you about leaving a message. ITs annoying!! The missed call is plenty. Although my workplace the nurses have been nurses for 50 years at least and are very old school. They left me a message a couple weeks ago and I deleted it and just called them back. They asked if I listened to their message and I was honest and said no.
I can not stand talking on the phone. It annoys me to no end. IF an emergency ok but if a simple text would solve it then DO IT.... LOL
I just wanted to chime in and say I made "crack slaw" for the first time ever since my surgery. OMG I didn't know what I was missing. Instead of ground beef I used ground turkey. WOW I can live on this honestly. I was a bit more liberal with the ingredients but here is the original recipe.
Recipe:
Ground 1 lb lean beef (ground turkey is really good) season with salt and pepper to taste, drain, mix in squirt of sirrachi sauce stir
In another pan, coat pan with sesame oil, saute one bag raw cole slaw, add 1/2 cup fresh green onions/scallions to mix, add 2 TB soy sauce, 1 TB minced garlic, 1/2 tsp hot sauce, 1 packet stevia, 1/2 tsp fresh ginger/or ginger paste, 1 tsp vinegar. Saute over medium heat mixing intermittently. Saute until soft.
Then add ground beef/turkey into veggies (for a hotter version add more sirrachi sauce and stir) serve on plate with a squirt of sirrachi sauce on top if desired.
Couldn't agree more...text or email. I especially hate when people leave me voice mails and am contemplating deleting my voice mail on my phone. However, I do have a rotation of a few people I call once a week while driving home to keep in touch (who don't like to text).
I have to echo the post I saw on here thanking this group. I have been in Thailand the last 2 weeks and just arrived home today, but the one thing I did login and look at every day was this forum, so I appreciate it keeping me focused. It was a challenge to eat in Thailand (especially since I don't like Thai or spicy food), but I did the best I could and still lost a few pounds, even with as carb heavy as it seemed to end up. I missed my protein shakes which I like to have in the morning, but brought turkey jerky and protein bars to supplement when needed. Had pizza for the first time in 8 months at the airport today after being stuck overnight in Bejing on our travels home. Desperate times....Although I had no problem physically with it, I am going to stay away from that for a while longer because it could be a slippery slope. Happy to be back in the good ol' USA and to get back to my normal routine.
Thanks everyone for sharing your ideas every day. It has definitely helped with my success thus far.

Text for most things. My kids keep me super busy and I really do not have time to chit-chat on the phone.
I have been working hard to lose my holiday weight. I have been going to Weigh****chers with a friend and have lost 4.7 of the 5.7 I gained over Christmas week (it's amazing how much I can gain in a week). I was feeling blah due to the weight and the lack of sun so a friend forced me to go to a fundraiser with her Friday night. I am glad she did. It was fun getting dressed up and made me feel good about how far I have come.
