how did you remember to eat in the beginning. I'm now 5 weeks out and I just can't fit eating times into My Day and remember to eat. How often are you eating meals and snack? Was it different in the beginning?

I used mostly protein shakes for three months.  I am over eight years out and still do not get hungry.  I just eat by the clock.  If you do not eat enough food, you body will burn its stored fat and you will lose weight.

For the first 3 months I used the reminders app on my iPhone. I t literally binged every time I was supposed to be eating or drinking. I couldn't always follow it but I tried, and it helped get me into the right habits.

At that point I was doing 6 teensy meals a day (some were shakes). Now, at 6 months out, I aim for 5 small meals but realistically only eat 4 on most days. I only force myself to eat the 5th if my protein is very low. I'd like to be able to get back to 6 tiny meals though. I know I felt better when I had it spread out like that.

I am not your norm and have been hospitalized 4 times since my revision surgery in October. I am just over 3 months out.

Make sure you get your fluids including protein shakes. That will keep you hydrated. As long as you are hydrated you can make a schedule to eat etc.

Good Luck

Im about 4 months out from surgery.  I am just now noticing that eating "real" food is more enjoyable.  For 3 months it was mainly yogurt and shakes.  I simply didnt enjoy anything else.... It wasnt really "nauseating or unpleasant" but it just wasnt right.  I can now notice my taste for meats, eggs, and cheese coming back.

I am three weeks out from surgery and I am not hungry nor do I crave any foods. I mainly just get thirsty so I try to remember to drink often. Problem is nothing really tastes like I remember it to be, if that makes any sense. Sometimes just the smell of food nauseates me and I have to get out of there for a while. I really hope it gets better. I have even lost my taste for ready to drink protein shakes, they feel like they are too thick?

I make my eating plan either the night or day before. I don't eat a certain number of meals because sometimes my pouch can eat way less than others. I spoke to my surgeon and he said make a plan, stick to it, and you will succeed.
