Weight loss stalled already

Hi, all. I am 5 weeks out today from my RNY. After losing about 20 pounds the first 3.5 weeks, but I have been stalled with absolutely no weight lost for the past 10 days. And by no weight loss, I mean not even a tenth of a pound.

I'm getting all of my protein, I'm limiting sugar/ carbs, and I'm following my dietician's plan completely.

Please, someone, convince me that I'm not going to be the one in a million whose metabolism is so terrible that even RNY doesn't work. (Not to be overly dramatic.) :-)

Also, I have yet to find a protein powder that I can stomach. I prefer chocolate to other flavors. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Search "3 week stall"

Then relax as you realize that you are completely normal.

I like Syntax Nectar -- chocolate truffle made with unsweetened almond milk or cashew milk is my favorite.

I never realized that the "3 week stall" was a thing. Now I feel much better.

Thanks!

You're welcome.  I know it's scary when you first start out -- but stick to plan and I swear, you have nothing to worry about.

That is why we encourage people to read as much as they can on this site (before surgery, if possible). There has literally been at least one post here regarding this (the week three stall) every single week for the past nine years (and multiple times per week most weeks). Yet people still have surgery and then don't know about it. My here is a wealth of information of what is nromal and common (and what is not)... Just keep reading!

Do what you need to do, and you will be just fine!

Hang in there, the stalls happen! I know it is much easier said than done though....

I like the chocolate Gold Standard Whey Protein. I also really like the Syntrax Nectar Cherry and Fruit Punch. They are more like a juice, and provided a nice variety when I was drinking a lot of shakes. If you have a Vitamin Shoppe near you, they will often let you sample them. You can also order a variety sampler of the Syntrax brand online.

You'll be making even more progress before you know it!!

Stall suck, we've all had them.  Just stick to plan and it will break.

I love Unjury chocolate supreme. It tastes like Nestle Quick to me.

Like everyone else said just stick to what you're doing and you'll start losing again.  It won't be the last stall but just remember to keep pushing through.

I am a little over 3 months out and was stalled for about 3 weeks. Finally the scale has moved for me.

Everything takes time and stalls are normal. I try not to get too obsessed with the scale(not that you are). I say this because the scale can mentally own you.

I wish you luck
