Bypass or sleeve?

Only 30% of RNY patients dump. If you don't eat sugary, starchy foods you really don't have to worry about dumping. I dump when eating very little sugar, so I've learned to stay away from it. I have only had one very bad episode. I drank some soy cappuchino without reading the label. It had 52 grams of sugar. I thought a trip to the hospital was in order (it was that bad!) I have watched the labels closely since then. I can have up to 12 grams of sugar before I dump. The best hing you can do is assume that you dump and avoid sugars all together. Don't test the waters to see if you dump. That sugar is terrible for you anyway.
The biggest differentiating factor is the effect on stomach acid. The sleeve is a high pressure system, which means that acid reflux is very common and often exasperated. But RNY cures acid reflux, which is the deciding factor for many people. I did not want to take a ppi for the rest of my life or risk needing a conversion due to severe acid reflux. I experienced frequent nausea prior to RNY, and it resolved the issues I had and improved my quality of life.

I will tell you what the surgeon told me as I wanted the sleeve but then went with RNY. She said "if your a dieter and yo yo then the sleeve isn't for you" "it will not hold you accountable for the food put in your mouth" that said she recommended RNY to me since that described me to a T. I haven't regretted it!!!
