Good Morning, menu participants!  LOL  This week is draaaaagging.  Maybe I'm still recovering from my night on the museum floor, but I am damn tired.  It seems lately (I'm talking like the last few months) that I wake up at like 2 or 3 in the morning and I never fall back to sleep.  I just lie there listening to the boiler kick on; sometimes I fire up the Kindle and read.  I used to be such a good sleeper, too.

Time since surgery:  18 months

B: coffee, Light &Fit Greek caramel apple pie yogurt and a HB egg.  Notice the distinct lack of a sugary cereal mix-in.  LOL

S:  celery with a LC wedge, 1/2 package of Munchies salted peanuts

L:  Buffalo chicken salad with pork rinds and a no sugar added Del Monte pear cup

D:  I'm making chicken noodle soup with a leftover rotisserie, so I'm just sort of guesstimating what I'm going to put in my bowl.

TOTALS:  Cals:  890  Protein:  98  Carbs:  53  Fat:  34

Have a great day everyone, and keep your hands outta the cookie jar.  Wait, that's just me.  Carry on!

I did a sneak peek yesterday morning at 5am and I was down 3 pounds - after 2 days.  I have been to the gym every morning if nothing else, I'm back on track! An, I will say it has not been bad.  I had a hunger headache only once...Other than that, it's been going well.

I'll post on Friday morning my total weight loss...

Good Morning -

It has definitely been a long feeling week. It was tourture to get out of bed this morning. And both kids were still sound asleep in their own beds at 7:00 A, which never happens!

After really starting to exercise and do a strength training routine I realized how awful and non-existent my core/abdominal muscles are. I guess it's too be expected as I have had 3 abdominal surgeries (RNY and 2 c-sections). And with my last pregnancy I got up to 347 lbs and was carrying a 12.5 lb/23.5" baby! Oh well, it can only get better from here (I hope!) Anyone recommend a abs routine on Prime/Netflix/YouTube that is good for beginners?

Not a video you can follow along to, but I did the Alex Jean Fitness Sore to the Core Challenge and really liked it AND felt great results. It's an interval sort of routine - so I downloaded a free HIIT timer app and set it up for the circuit and off I went!

If I remember correctly it's typically 18-25 minutes - some days are 30 seconds working, others are 45. But it's good bang for the buck for sure.

What a blessing you are to help foster these kids! Praying for them to find the perfect forever home where they can continue to be loved and nurtured! And congratulations  on the scale movement too! I too love the accountability here and the way it forces me to plan my food. I tend to make smarter choices that way!

My cousin and his wife are new foster parents.  They were just approved about a year ago but didn't get a placement until early June.  They have a little boy who is 18 month old, and I spoke with my cousins wife and she had such a hard time transitioning.  They don't have any other kids, so it was a big shock to have a 9 month old plopped into your life.  They've adjusted, but I know she had a bit of a breakdown trying to function, especially since their little guy had been bounced around and had issues.  He's a sweet kid, and very close in age to my youngest, so I'm hoping they get to grow up together.  Their intention is adoption, since they have been unable to get pregnant on their own.

I give you HUGE props for doing what you do, I'm sure it's not always easy, and a lot of the kids in the foster care system has issues stemming from abuse and neglect.  you are an angel to give them a safe place to live.

You just gave me the sniffles.  Thank you for such kind words.  The littlest baby I have was born at 24 weeks addicted to everything possible.  He now has a heart and lung condition and permanent brain damage.  I was so scared he was going to die for the first several months.  Now he is smiling and playing.  Makes it all worth while.  It is hard but I can't think of a better more rewarding job.  Loosing all this weight has made me a way better and more fun mom
