4 Weeks

So I'm 4 weeks post op and life is slowly starting to get back to normal. My incisions are doing great and overall I feel ok.

Sadly, I have started to notice a problem.  I can take fluids and hold them perfectly fine but if I try to eat something such as some greek yogurt I had a bit ago, shortly after I take a few bites I get this strong feeling that I need to regurgitate it back up, it's not really vomitting but still feels just as bad. It just started a couple days ago and before that I was perfectly fine with eatting so I don't know whats up. Kinda makes me worried if some thing is going wrong with the surgery....

Other than that everything else seems fine with me.

Anyone else go through some thing like this before?

Yes, but I am not the norm. Some seasoned RNYers can give you better advice. I was in and out of the hospital for pancreatitis, ulcer and malabsorption.

Try not to drink at least 30 minutes or 30 minutes after you eat, it might help. Good Luck

You could have a stricture which the surgeoncan fix easily.  You could also be eating too fast or too much.  I would call my surgeon.

Well I know I'm not eating too fast.  As of right now I cannot hold ANYTHING down. Water or food..  :(

Everything I put down wants to come back up. I got hiccups and a bit of a tightness sensation in my stomach/chest.

It's really got me worried now.

Get to the surgeon in the morning.  A stricture is a simple fix.

Well went to surgeons hospital and was told she thinks i irritated my pouch and that caused me to not keep anything down and get dehydrated and feel all pukey and ill.

So now im in the hospital with an IV drip. :/

I am sorry you are going through that.  The drip is probably to keep from getting dehydrated.  An irritated pouch usually clears up in about 24 hours or so.  They used to put you back to liquids only until they were sure it was healed.

Yeah, I am on liquids only for right now. Gonna hold off on puree stuff for a bit till I think I'm ready.   It's amazing how the IV fluids and the Zofran they gave me cleared up alot of my issues. It's nice to finally be able to keep liquid down again :)

Glad you went it to get it checked.   Glad you're doing better.
