What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
on 1/18/16 6:11 am
Hello from vacationland :) We are having a great time on our 3 day vaca! Lots of eating out, but I think I'm making pretty good choices (except there was definitely a Popover with maple butter, but soooo worth it).
Hard to be 100% sure what's on the menu but the plan is:
B: 1 scrambled egg
S: almonds
L: roast beef sandwich without the bread
D: Shrimp Caesar Salad
Exercise
The fitness room in the hotel has the heat pumped up to 100 degrees so it's pretty intolerable to do a "real" workout but I've managed about 15 minutes of jogging on the treadmill before I pass out. So not as great as I hoped I'd be, but better than nothing!

Morning AV and the gang. I am glad you are well prepared for the weather. I have to say, it's soooo cold here, but at least we have very little snow to deal with.
I had an awesome weekend, I got some much needed housework done that I had been putting off, rearranged my family room and am starting my spring cleaning early. This weekend I will work on the front living room that is piled high with old toys that my youngest doesn't really use anymore. I've always had issues with clutter, and I'm tired of living two steps away from being a hoarder.
I finally broke my weight loss stall this weekend! it feels awesome, and the scale moved again a little this morning, so I'm hoping that it just slowly keeps going. coming up on 6 months post op, and I know that the loss has to slow at some point, but I'm pushing myself to stick to my plan and I know the loss will continue.
I made these delicious little wontons last night with greek yogurt, feta and spinach and baked them in my airfryer. it's like a mini spinach pie that is less than 50 calories each, low fat, lowish carb and so yummy. I am having two for lunch with some chicken salad that I made using greek yogurt, garlic and dill. I'm going to keep playing with this fryer and finding lots of bariatric friendly things to make.
Here's my plan for the day:
5.5 months since surgery
B: Light and Fit, coffee with cream and splenda, one mini spinach pie - 197 calories
L: chicken salad and 2 mini spinach pies - 199 calories
D: Steamed brussel sprouts and shrimp with ****tail sauce - 204 calories
S: cottage cheese single and 1/2 a pumpkin pie quest bar - 200 calories
Totals:
Cal 800 Protein 79 carbs 66 fat 26
Wearing my vitamin patches and I'm drinking the fluids. I'm going to try to zumba on my xbox one tonight, I'll see if my baby wants to dance with me. Should be fun.
It's been frigid in Illinois the last three days with miserable wind and no Temps above 18 so Lily and I cannot do the park. That means I am stuck on my stinking treadmill, which regardless the TV program is just BORING. I will do 3 miles in a few minutes and 30 minutes on the bike later. Bike is not as boring because I read while I pedal and I love to read but barely have time except when I'm on the bike! If I'm bored before bed I will do another mile on the treadmill then too. I don't do protein shakes as liquids anymore because they just do not keep me full but do sprinkle the dry protein powder in my steel cut oats each morning. Pre surgery I always tried slim fast and felt the same with that. Like that was a great drink now where is my breakfast? Not real successful with liquid diets! Post op a week shy of 41 months and here's the food B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1/2 c cheesy broccoli soup and 31/2 oz grilled tuna D venison chili with beans S Greek yogurt. Have a great day all and make smart choices.

How about audiobooks on the treadmill? I use the kindle app on my iPad and they have a feature called "whisper-sync", so for a few more dollars you get the book in readable kindle format with an audio feature, too, that way you can switch back and forth between reading and listening.

I dont even think THAT would help me.....I try and put a movie on or whatever, but the dreadmill just gets SO BORING after about 25 minutes for me! LOL I know its all in my head, but damned if I can't shake that SOOOO BORING feeling.
Yet I can walk for hours and hours outside! lol
But I still use it anyway when I need to. Well right NOW it sits all lonely in our storage unit until we close on our house

The only thing that helps me is covering up the treadmill stats with a book or a towel so that I'm no****ching the seconds tick by sooo slowly. I swear that 60 seconds on a treadmill is equivalent to 60 minutes in real life! Once I cover it, I can deal.
