New product at Costco- Kodiak Cakes- Protein Flapjack and Waffle Mix
So before you all go shaking your fingers at me...I know the carb count is high. I won't be eating them every day or twice a day. The box also suggests substituting milk for the water or adding an egg for another protein boost. They were offering samples and I have to say that they are delicious to me. The demonstrator was making little 2" sized pancakes and said that 1/2 would make 9 of them. I doubt I could eat 9. I will make some for breakfast and see how far it goes. The box cost $14.99 here in Canada so with the value of our dollar that's probably 99cents down there. LOL!!!

If you really like pancakes check out The World according to Eggface she has some really good recipes for alternatives to things like this.
I know I am a food addict eating something like this would be a major trigger for me. I know carbs like this would just slide right through my pouch and I would go on a bender.
My problems started with "Low Carb" pita bread and tortillas.
The Carb Monster is real. I am still struggling with it. I thought I could handle one low carb pita bread once in a while for a sandwich....... I consider myself a strong person, but I'm not as strong as I thought I was.
.
We got obese because we succumbed to carbs or sweets - we overate. To be successful, we have to follow the guidelines.......and maintenance can be more challenging that the basic program. Have you checked out Eggface's site.....she has loads of recipes that you may find helpful.

I pick these up and look at the nutrition info every time I'm at Costco, and every time I put them down again, disappointed by the carb content. I probably eat more carbs in a day than many on here, but I prioritize what I really want to "spend" those carbs on, and these have just never seemed worth it to me. Maybe they're worth it to someone else. But adding protein to something you'd ordinarily avoid doesn't immediately make it a wise food choice. Just my 2 cents.
Hope this gives you a few ideas for pancake alternatives... http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2015/09/its-p ancake-lovers-day.html
