New product at Costco- Kodiak Cakes- Protein Flapjack and Waffle Mix

So before you all go shaking your fingers at me...I know the carb count is high. I won't be eating them every day or twice a day. The box also suggests substituting milk for the water or adding an egg for another protein boost. They were offering samples and I have to say that they are delicious to me. The demonstrator was making little 2" sized pancakes and said that 1/2 would make 9 of them. I doubt I could eat 9. I will make some for breakfast and see how far it goes. The box cost $14.99 here in Canada so with the value of our dollar that's probably 99cents down there. LOL!!!

Let me know what you all think...Chris.
I make my pancakes using coconut flour or almond flour. Many use just cottage cheese and eggs. Some add protein powder to the mix.
That product you mentioned is really very high carbs. Thanks , but I would not use that.
I make great protein + fiber + good fat waffles and pancakes. Then I can use some fruits as toppings.

I think you are like that guy at the gate. You know, the gate at the top of the ramp on the ski jump? Open that carb gate, and it's straight downhill.
You may intend to make little 2" pancakes now. But your 2 inch pancakes will be 5 or 6 inches before long. And don't forget the butter, syrup, and powdered sugar!
And how is ADDING milk and eggs to the recipe going to make it better for you? It's just adding more calories.
What do I think? I think it's a terrible idea.

Thanks for your thoughts. You may think that I am starting down a slippery slope and I appreciate your concern. I have no plans to overdo this. I have never added butter or powdered sugar to pancakes, and if I have syrup it will be from my sugar free bottle in the fridge that I've had for a very long time and is still 3/4 full. I am not stupid enough to think that this is the perfect of protein but consider it as an alternative when I am in maintenance. I am very close to where I want to be so will hold off until I am at goal to enjoy these. Is it weird that I sometimes feel like I am being chastised like I am some kind of child that can't make good decisions?
I'm not sure why you bothered asking. Even in your original post, you knew pelope would say no. Did you want to be talked out of it, or were you looking for approval?
As far as not intending to overdo it, I never intended to be 475 pounds either. It happens, a little at a time.
You can add milk, eggs, or protein powder to pancakes, and they will never, ever, ever be protein. They will always be huge carb bombs that will make you want more and more and more. Follow the plan. Dense protein.
I'm not treating you like a child. I'm treating you like an adult who already knew the answer when you asked the question. Hoping for a different answer will never make this a good decision.

No one ever intends to over do it. No one is chastising you but we are being HONEST and REAL. We are all on this WLS path because we DID over do it, and you are fooling yourself if you think that a few months of post-op life have magically granted you the ability to be immune to carb cravings once the scale is where you want it to be.
Look at the surgery dates of the people who have said they thought this was a bad idea. Most of us who are still here are also maintaining our weight loss while those who thought they had this obesity thing "beat" -- and regained their weight -- are nowhere to be found.
We are trying to save people from setting themselves up for failure.

Sorry. Even at 2 years out, I would never eat these. One serving has 3 less carbs than I eat in a WHOLE DAY. Not worth it to me.
