What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Hi AV and all,
I'm struggling, to be honest. Lots of social obligations which normally involve wine and other carbs. The usual downfall for many if not all of us. I stepped on the scale today and it was a total wake-up call. When you have to lose 5 lbs, then 10 lbs, now even a few more than that, it's a definite eye-opener. How easy those first 18 months were!
Luckily, since I work from home, I can control what food is in my house. My trash is full of things I should not eat, and my fridge and freezer is full of things I should eat. As long as I stop the grazing, I can be successful. I have the added motivation of having a DEXA body scan in one week, and I would like to have a lower weight, more lean muscle mass, and less fat.
Time Since Surgery: 2 years, 1 month
B: Two coffees with half and half, egg salad (two hard-boiled eggs, mayo, mustard)
L: Leftover turkey from Thanksgiving (it's been frozen) with a tiny bit of stuffing, cucumber salad
S: Pita chips with protein dip from Trader Joe's
D: Two AmyLu (Costco) andouile chicken sausage, cucumber salad
E: An hour on the elliptical at lunch (didn't throw my back out after the twinge last week, but still babying it)
Totals: 1,377 calories, 78 protein, 80 carbs
Have a great Monday all!
I gamble occasionally, just lottery-- I don't like casino's etc. At the Casino you find out way to fast how much money you've lost...at least with the lottery you have a day or two to dream before that hope is dashed away LOL. My parents are BIG time lotto players- while they won decent amounts quiet a few times (up $5K) I'm sure they have lost FAR more then they have won. Because I saw my parents put so much money into it I can't get into it hardcore, so I play sporadically. I'll play something for a few weeks then drop it for a while. Our office pool had like 100 people in it-- we got all the numbers-- just not on the same ticket :-) I'll do the pool again-- but I wi**** were a smaller pool. It just makes sense to join it though. Of course I'll buy my own tickets...I usually do quick pick but I'll also pick my own today. I'm not spending more than $15. I don't care for the multi-state games-- the state only games obviously has better odds.

I do not gamble. Well the most I will do is buy the power ball. I don't gamble since I live 20 minutes from the casinos. I know I would get addicted to it. My parents go to casinos all the time. I think that is why I don't want to gamble. They choose to gamble than see me or my kids.

Thanks for posting. I have 23 pounds to go and realized I was eating too many calories and not exercising regularly. I had been painting my daughters house and that was great but I'm done for now. Its 18 outside so walking outdoors is out. However, I do have a treadmill and will get on that for at least 30 minutes. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Monday. Quick post for me since I have to leave in a bit for lab work that I need to have done for my follow up with my surgeon next month. Just want to get back so I can have my coffee!! I tried a new recipe this weekend-spinach pizza crust, it was really easy to make and super tasty (recipe I found on Pinterest) oh and my super Walmart had a new L&F Greek yogurt....Strawberry Shortcake mousse and it was so yummy. I don't gamble much at all, but Hubby did buy a few tickets for the Lotto for Wednesday.

I made half and ate half the pizza. The other half warmed up nicely. Oh and I used eggbeaters.
Good morning, Well, it's Monday, I'm up a bit after my weekend of eating everything I shouldn't and way to many calories and carbs. I didn't win powerball either. Of course, to win you must buy a ticket and I did not; however hubby did buy a few and well, we got nothing. I did work out both weekend days, got my house back to rights and made a couple of awesome dinners; beef and broccoli last night and Sandra Lee's crockpot spanish chicken on Saturday. I also made cloud bread for the first time, not bad, just a tad different. I thought I had honey and rosemary, but didn't, so just used the liquid stevia per the recipe. It definitely needs the honey and rosemary for some flavor, but not too bad otherwise.
