How often do you weigh yourself?

How often do you weigh yourself and did it change depending on how far along you were in your weight loss journey?

I am 7 1/2 months out and I only weigh myself on Monday mornings after I tinkle and butt nekkid.  I'm thinking that after I have lost all of my weight or am closer to goal that it will need to be more often just to keep things in check.  But I know me, a pound or two weight gain will make me absolutely crazy!

I never said it would be easy. I said it would be worth it.

I weigh every day/every other day, though I hear this is bad. I'm starting my 3 week stall so I really should skip a couple days so I can be surprised when the scale is less.

My surgeon told my DH to hide the scale for the first 3 weeks.

It's not "bad" per se, you just have to be willing to accept ordinary day-to-day variations.  Especially when we're losing it can be difficult and discouraging to see you're "up" a pound since yesterday even though it's entirely normal.

I weighed myself every day during my losing, and I still weigh myself almost every day.  I found it helped to make sure your daily weights are entered into My Fitness Pal or some other app/software that will show your weights on a chart.  That way, even if it goes up for a day or two, it still shows the overall loss.

I am 5 months post-op and weigh every morning. I'm too the point now where a little stall or even a small gain doesn't bother me.  I like routine, so I stick to my morning schedule.

I weighed myself probably weekly during the first four years, but once true maintenance kicked in (with the ability to gain weight), I started to weigh daily.

I'm over three years out and in maintenance and weigh daily to keep myself accountable. When in the losing phase I weighed once per week per my doctors suggestion. Now I want to catch gain before it becomes a problem which is why I switched to every morning.

I weigh myself everyday and have through the whole process. I feel it helps keep me on track. You can't get upset about fluctuations. I had my surgery on a Wednesday, and on the 23rd of the month. So I write down my weight ever Wednesday, and on every 23rd of the month. It helps me to keep track of things and see trends. Sometimes if I am getting frustrated it can help to look back.

I think if I see a fluctuation up that doesn't seem to be moving back down I can catch it quicker and re-evaluate.

Every day.  I record my weight on Fridays, but I step on the scale every single day.

I bought a Garmin Index scale recently.  It measures weight, BMI, water percentage, fat percentage, muscle weight, and bone weight.  I weigh everyday and the scale syncs to my computer and smartphone and to My Fitness Pal.

Weight in pounds is only one part of the data.  If my weight is up two pounds and my muscle mass is also up two pounds that tells me where the gain came from.  I also could be up from holding water so I compare that figure to my previous data.  I can watch the changes in water weight from eating a lot of sodium, muscle and bone increase or decrease depending on my workouts.

It is so worth it to me to know all of this data about my body and to have a way of keeping it all in perspective.
