What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning, AV! I am so glad you are back. I'm sorry that you've been sick, and even though you were feeling crappy, I hope the quality snuggle time with your kid was a little bonus. I have to say a big thank you for doing this everyday, it really is somethng that I look forward to.
I am going to jinx myself by saying this, but I haven't been really sick at all for at least a year, probably closer to 2 years. (just knocked on my desk). I am an ex-smoker, and quit smoking in 2012 after 22+ years of it. when I was smoking, I got sick all the time. I was constantly getting bronchitis and upper respitory infections. Since I quit I can count the number of times I've been really sick on one hand. Thank God I finally gave it up.
I have seen Gumball, and it's a cute show. My kid has been watching Courage the Cowardly Dog in the morning when I get up, and that show I find downright disturbing. I guess it's better than him watching Archer, which he does regularly.
I did really well on my plan yesterday. I didn't "cheat" or add anything extra that wasn't planned except for about 1/4 of a can of Diet Pepsi. My inlaws had dinner and cake and ice cream for my nephew last night at their house. They got pizza and bread sticks, and cake and ice cream. I went home from work and made myself a salad with shrimp on it, and took it over with me. When everyone else was eating pizza, I was scarfing my salad. When everyone was eating cake and ice cream, I was playing with the baby. I did have a snack when I got home last night, but I had planned for it, and it was half of a protein bar. I feel like I broke the cycle last night and I'm feeling very motivated today.
Here's my plan:
5+ months since surgery
B: Wonton quiche, coffee with cream 229 calories
L: Spiral sliced ham (leftovers I thawed from Christmas dinner), .75oz cheddar cheese and a pickle 212 calories
D: BBQ chicken leg, pickled veggies 147
S: Turkey pepperoni and a laughing cow light, the other half of that protein bar.
I'm really digging these Total Lean Advanced protein bars so far, they have no sugar alcohol and half of one feels like a treat.
Stay strong today everyone!
Great to see you back, sorry about you and your son being sick!! NO FUN!!

Hello all. AV hope you are feeling better soon!!
So last night I made that turkey lasagna with the spaghetti squash. So many leftovers! It was really yummy. I do think I made a mistake with it though because I measured 2 oz turkey, 1/3 cup spaghetti squash, ricotta, etc and it made 1 cup! So I suppose I will be eating 1/2 of it for my meal but now I'm not getting my 2 oz of protein. :(
B: 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup water with gnc wheybolic cookies n cream
L: Leftover turkey lasagna (1/2 cup)
D: Not sure yet. Need to determine
S: probably yogurt
Calories: somewhere around 600
Exercise: will walk around house or outside, not sure yet. Maybe try a yoga or dance dvd
For some reason, being overworked has made me SOOOO productive. I am in the zone. OF course, it could just be a sleep deprived fog(thank you fitbit for telling me I had 4 hours and 46 minutes of sleep with 6x restless, SOMETIMES I HATE YOU) My honey made me meatloaf in muffin tins yesterday so I am more than kinda excited to eat those. I bought silicone muffin pans so I could pop them in the freezer and they popped right out and into a ziploc they go!
