Chili liquid or solid food
Solid, but it's a slider food. Once you are further out, you can eat a lot more chili than you could a dense protein. It won't fill you up as much.

I was about to type the very same thing. Definitely a slider food. In fact, I don't know how far the OP is out -- but 1/2 cup is as much as I'd eat at 2 years out -- considering that an average cup of chili has 287 calories and 30 g carbs.
I put yogurt, soups, stews and even salads all in that same slider category.
