21 days post op
Sorry, I haven't been on for twenty one days.
surgery was December 18 then the holidays, ya'll know how time gets away from you. Need some pointers please. I am getting a lot of air in tummy when I swallow liquids causing pains, I know I need more fluid intake. The doc has me introducing regular foods have thrown up a few time after first bite,,,,any comments!
Congratulations on having your surgery. I have a very good friend (R&Y) and also a friends daughter (sleeve) that both had surgery the same day as you. Things will get easier as time goes by. Like the others say sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk. Take small sips and don't be using a straw! small bites well chewed and don't eat to fast. You will be amazed at how well you are feeling within the year!

Varying the temperature of the drink helped me. I couldn't drink anything cold for a long time. I drank a lot of hot herbal tea right after surgery. Peppermint and ginger were my favorite. I would set a timer for every 15 minutes to remind me to take a drink. Sometimes it helps to drink something warm, before you eat (for some reason it seems to relax the pouch).
It took me a long time to introduce foods. If it upset my pouch, I would go back to full liquids for a day or two to let my pouch "rest". Then I would try the solid foods again. We all heal at different rates. You still may have some swelling that is making it hard to eat. Keep trying and remember to chew until the food is applesauce consistency. Also remember to take VERY tiny bites and eat slowly. The biggest culprits in not being able to eat solid food is eating too fast, or eating too much.
