Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!  This week is just flying by, said nobody.  Stuff is still irritating me and I can't get motivated to rise above.  And to add to my ennui, I'm feeling completely uninspired food-wise lately.  My menu is 'meh' and I don't feel like making anything new.  LOL  I'm a barrel of laughs right now.

Tell me the last thing you got excited about.  I can't think of anything, myself, so let me live vicariously.

Time since surgery:  17+ months

B:  coffee, L&F Greek vanilla (I'm going to hate this, I'm sure.  My husband bought it because he clearly hasn't been paying attention) and Quaker Oat & Yogurt strawberry biscuits.

S:  Starkist sweet & spicy tuna packet because I want to annoy my co-workers

L:  Buffalo chicken salad, celery sticks w/a LC wedge and a cheese stick

D:  over easy egg and a slice of ultra thin Colby jack over a black bean burger from Aldi that is not nearly as good as the Morningstar Farms one.

TOTALS:  Cals:  918  Protein:  87  Carbs:  64  Fat:  36

Be careful out there.  LOL

Still pre-op here. 5 more weeks of supervised diet before I get submitted. Yay!

B-1 c. cottage cheese, 1 oz hot and spicy salami (wasn't feeling the egg routine today)

L-1 mini babybel cheese, 1.5 oz hot and spicy salami, grape tomatoes

S-1/2 yellow bell pepper, 2 T OPA greek feta dill dressing

D-2 grilled chicken strips with pizza sauce, fresh mozz and turkey pepperonis baked on; 1 c. Caesar salad

S-2 T almonds

Cals: 1102

I got excited making a bucket list for 2016 yesterday. Thinking about things I will be able to do when some weight is gone, and spending more quality time with my husband and kids. In June I'm going to take my 12 year old daughter and participate in a 5K bubble run. (think color run, but instead, lots of colored bubbles). I might not be able to "run" at that point, but we will walk it if we have to. It's in a nearby city, so we will have to spend the night in a hotel, will be a fun girls weekend.  I'm looking forward to the new lease on life weight loss is going to assist me with. I'm only 37 years old, I need to be the healthiest me I can be.

Last thing I got excited about....hhmmmmm.  I fit into a pair a size 10 skinny jeans at Old Navy the other day.  Zipped and buttoned.  Probably wouldnt have been able to sit AND breath at the same time.  But I was pretty excited!!  lol  Also the scale finally went down some this morning....not to my lowest yet, but getting there!!  So THAT was pretty exciting for me

9 Months (TODAY!) since surgery

B: 3/4c Fairlife skim milk, 1 scoop Syntrax milk chocolate

L: Homemade salisbury steak (that I didnt get to eat yesterday)

D: Homemade chef salad (romaine, 2oz ham, 2 slices deli american cheese, 1 tbsp blue cheese dressing)

S: Dill pickles, Dannon L&F Greek yogurt, ??? something else if needed, which will probably happen

Totals: Cals: 685  Protein: 77  Carbs: 25  Fat: 32

So I had my "8 month" follow up yesterday, late at 9 months out.  It went well, I have lost 77.8% of my excess weight.  This is way ahead of their goal for me.  They FINALLY said it would be fine if I tried to get to my (totally made up) goal of 150.  BUT if I never lost another pound that would be fine with them.

I did get the "EAT MORE" speech.  They want me at a minimum of 1000 calories.

1000 calories?  Bah, they are crazy.  I feel guilty when I hit 800.

I know!  I told them I do try.  But the only times I seem to eat that high is when I am eating something I really shouldn't be eating!

I am sure I will think back at this time and laugh at myself LOL

Melissa! I will tell you that a few times when I was stalled UPPING my calories actually got the scale going DOWN again. It's a delicate balance, but might be worth a try!

The new dietitian actually said the lower cals may be making my body hold onto everything, like "starvation mode".  But isnt the whole surgery putting us into starvation mode all the time??  Wouldnt that mean that EVERYONE would never make it to goal by eating low calorie?  Or am I missing something here?

That isn't to say I wont try upping my calories to see how it does.

I don't know...I think that the whole "starvation mode" thing is a myth from what I've read...

But I definitely think committing to upping your calories for a week is worth seeing what happens.

Oh and how is your fluid intake? Both of those things seemed to help me when I was stalled.

I drink so much water I'm surprised I haven't floated away! LOL  So, water intake, isnt the problem
