Constant burping doesn't sound right at all; I'm sorry you're not doing well. Could it be due to some injury to the adjacent nerves in that area? There's no telling what happens during surgery.
I've found that when I get hiccups, if I straighten up and inhale very deeply, then hold the breath until I'm about to pop, and then force myself to burp, I may feel a bubble rise up my esophagus. There is apparently a bubble of gas trapped behind my zyphoid process, and once that's gone the hiccups stop. It might work for constant burping; I don't know, but I go with my little old country mama's mantra "It cain't hurt, and it might help!" Good luck.
I know it's tough to do your food intake but you MUST stay hydrated. If you don't you'll find yourself seriously ill, and may faint when standing up. You should talk to your doctor about an IV if you can't do oral fluids. This is nothing to fool around with.
I hope you get some help very soon.
You have a problem that needs to be addressed. I am sorry that happened and it seems that you are getting it addressed. You are regretting getting a complication, and so would I if had was experieincing what you are.
That being said, it is too soon for you to regret your surgery. It sounds as though you want to 'Throw the baby out with the bathwater." Get this complication taken care of and things may get better (you may still have some swelling from the surgery). Is there anything you can do to reduce your stress over this situation?

I'm sorry that you're not feeling well & I hope they get to the bottom of your problem. Being a month out you're not seeing any of the benefits of surgery & are running into complications, so you're in a sucky place. Just know that this will pass, complications happen & it does suck, but hopefully you won't run into too many more problems.
Old fashioned remedies will have to do, just like others suggested, tea, more walking hopefully will get that gas moving out of your system.

Well here's the good news.
This is a TOTALLY normal phase in post-op development. Seriously. I wouldn't say we ALL go through buyers remorse, but enough of us do where I can call it an actual post-op phase.
Here are a few things to remember (that might encourage you although maybe not for five seconds after you read them):
- Your body is mad at you. This is good to remember because it means you are ADJUSTING. This is major surgery and the recovery takes a while. Your body will act funny in a million more ways before all is said and done. My advice? Unless it's painful or nauseating (which this seems to be for you), take it with a sense of adventure. But also be kind to yourself. You're healing. That's hard. And it's ok for that to be hard!
- Your body will heal. The human body is AMAZING. It can bounce back from so many things. A year from now you'll look at this post and go, "Damn, I'm glad all that has passed!" Because it most likely will pass. If it doesn't your medical team should work on it until it does. But standing at 8 years post-op I can say life gets better and more normal eventually.
- This is a blip on the radar of the rest of your life. So that means that this short period of time, years from now, will probably seem insignificant. This is not to minimize how you feel but to let you know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. When you reach it, RUN FORREST! And don't look back.
Hugs. I know it's tough but you can get through this! This is why we say this isn't the easy way out. This isht is hard!
