Hard work=GOAL!!
I did it! I did it! 2 lbs under my goal weight! I'm there! I had a follow up with my surgeon last week and mind you my goal was 10lbs over his. And he confirmed that the last few pounds which are left (8 of them) are most definitely skin. I am at a normal BMI for the first time in almost my entire life! I still can't wrap my head around it some days. It's such an amazing feeling. For those of you just starting out on this journey...keep plugging away!! It's so worth it! The biggest thing to remember is that it takes a lot of hard work. Surgery in itself is just a tool to get you started. Keep the mindset that it is a complete change in lifestyle and habits that gets you to the finish line and never lose sight of it!
I have had no issues overall, other than some random air buildup in my gut plumbing (mental note to self...stop chewing gum) and a small dumping episode while on vacation in Vegas (mental note to self...don't ever down a glass of red wine on an empty stomach...NEVER EVER!).
Life changes all around. Not only am I healthy and happy, I am just a few months away from obtaining my BSN and have received the opportunity of a lifetime by landing a job at a pediatric specialty hospital. My dream job!!! And I am not going to lie...wearing those knee high boots and skinny jeans feels so amazingly perfect!
Life truly begins at 40!!! At least my life feels like it has...
Best of luck to you all beginning this journey, and thank you to everyone on the OH forums for your guidance along the way!
Congratulations!!
