School & gastric bypass??
I didn't even think about the backpack of books and laptop! Last semester I got away without using a lot of them so maybe this time i can too :) it's a good little hike from parking lot to class to across campus to next class so I'm hoping I won't get too out of energy mid way and be stranded! I have high energy now so I wonder if I'll be the same after!
I would suggest making sure your professors are okay with you recording the lectures, and do that. Even if you're off the pain meds, it might be hard to concentrate for up to 3 hours in a lacture.

150 lost and maintaining!
You will prob be cleared for driving, but I had lifting limitations for 6 weeks - so no 30 book bag, unless you get someone else to carry it for you.

Kudos to you for your ambition!
I, too, work full time and am in law school full time. I planned on going to class the night I was released from the hospital, but I needed the pain meds and there's no way I could go after taking them. So I missed the whole week of my surgery. I was able to go the next week with no problems at all. We all heal differently, so I hope you are able to go! My classes are 4 hours long and at the time I was off work and pretty much just laying in bed recovering aside from my walking. Sitting upright and still for that long was slightly uncomfortable, but tolerable.
