Uncontrollable hunger!

I was going to reply about dense protein and whatnot, but everyone has already done an amazing job of that. I'll just tell you I didn't eat like I should have over Xmas. I didn't fall completely off the wagon, but I grazed on lots of sweet things. I was back home and back to my normal routine on Tuesday, and I was STARVING for 2 days. I was eating again just like I had been before Xmas, but after indulging the carb monster for a week, it wanted to stay in control. A couple days of white-knuckling it and I'm finally not feeling hungrier than previously.
Carbs make you crave more food, specifically more carbs. They're not intrinsically evil, but being aware of how they affect hunger and metabolism can help lead to better food choices and to make sure the occasional indulgences are really worth it. My aunts own a bakery, so a brownie on Xmas is worth the white knuckling that follows. Lean Cuisines? Not so much.
Just a small update. You all have made me do a 180! Your inspirational words and wisdom helped me to reevaluate why I am here.
I am down 2 pounds (YAY) this week and have been following your advice.
I am trying to stave off the carbs but also remembering lots of advice and reading. I thought this surgery was the ticket to me not having to do the work...boy was I wrong!
When I grocery shopped I bought bags of chicken breast....as I read that was the lowest calorie meat. Does anyone have any tips on preparing..What is your favorite way to eat chicken breast??
I found a brand of string cheese called Cheese Head, that is 50 calories/serving. These come in real handy when I am ravenous!
I have not been perfect...one night I was turning over in bed and caught site of my husbands candy cane shaped tube of Reeces...I nabbed 3 of them and shoved them in my mouth like someone who had been raised by animals. I was asleep, I will put those somewhere else!
I'm going to stay on this site for sure! What an amazing group of people.
Thank you! Thank you so much!
