Prioritizing appearances vs. fitness (my own and my dog's)
I have always been active, even when obese. I have never paid a dime for a trainer. I just mix up my routine and do various kick-boxing classes, Zumba, Cardio cross-train, push-ups, running, weight lifting on my own. Most group exercise classes have an instructor that will show you good form and how to use weights appropriately. Take what you've learned from the trainer and try it on your own. I bet you'd be successful. :)
