Today was a glimpse of the "new normal"
Well, it's now a little over 3 weeks out since my rny and I had to join the human race and act like it was all good. We decided to take my daughter up snowboarding and it was freezing! I had to plan my food, take lots of water, carry a pain pill (I'm still super painful from the g-tube removal) and be prepared to walk a lot and be cheerful and enthusiastic! It worked! I didn't ski, but had to coordinate lessons and do a lot of moving around in 9 degree weather. We ate at a restaurant and I was able to find good food choices and had no problem telling the server that I just had this surgery and had specific needs. The margarita my husband had sang a siren song at me, but I boldly ignored it :). Anyway, home now and warm in bed. Excited to continue living and experiencing the new normal! Just the few pounds I have lost already made it easier to move around, yay!

SO great you didn't shy away from stepping out and living life. That is what this is about, living life again. We just need to figure out new ways to navigate that are healthy. Sounds like it was fun!
