Liquid intake

Do you guys have any advice on how to get my liquid intake up because this seems like a real big problem for me.
I can hold everything down that I take but I'm just worried I'm not getting enough fluids and the right amount of time.
So ya.. that does bother me
Glue a bottle into your hand if you have to.
Seriously, not drinking enough is the number one reason for postop issues and complications. People often get readmitted to get IV liquids. An IV puts it in one drop at a time. I'm pretty sure you can drink faster than that.
Finding something you enjoy drinking will help more than anything else. Just get it done.

Try different temperatures.
To these days I still can't drink much of plain water. It needs to be flavored. I use herbal teas, diet tonic, lemon, etc..
My pouch like warmer liquids - but not hot. Diet tonic - diluted with water - 1 oz of tonic + 10 oz of water..just enough to add flavor...
Some use Crystal light...or mio type flavors. But I hate aspartame (hedaches) so that is not for me..
Cucumber infused water, chicken broth, etc...

Drinking was very difficult for me at first. I didn't have any desire to drink or eat anything and it hurt when I did. For the first few days, I made sure to have an alarm clock set to go off every five minutes. When the alarm went off, I took a sip. It seems silly, but it helped me get my water in.

I to aim having a problem with getting 64 ounces of fluids a day. My problem stems from my Dr.'s protocol, no fluids a half hour before and an hour after eating. I can get 32 in before noon but between lunch, snack and dinner it's almost impossible to get the other 32. Of course I forgot I am also working and it isn't always easy to drink at work.
From this forum I have learned to follow your Dr.'s protocol. Is their really a difference to my health if I change the times? I have read people having different times before and after eating to consume liquids. I guess my Dr. is very conservative but will it hurt me if I wait 30 min after eating to drink?
You can drink right up until a minute or two before eating. Liquids go right through your stomach, so there is no need to wait. Drinking while eating, or within 30 minutes after are the big prohibitions. If you do that, you can eat more and be hungry quicker.
Wait as long as you can after eating, otherwise you will be hungrier and miserable.
