First Dumping Experience

I don't think you had your glasses on when you read the greek label. Plain non-fat has about 7 grams of sugar from the lactose. It has no ADDED sugar. That's a big, big difference.

In more than one instance I have run into foods that have both "diet" and "no added sugar" versions. The diet usually has lower calories and lower sugar numbers because they use an artificial sweetener.

No added sugar doesn't mean no sugar. And sugar free doesn't mean calorie free.

I concede that tomatoes have sugar being a fruit, but it is at least a natural sugar. Yogurt (plain, unsweetened, no fat greek yogurt) does not.

I would like to see the nutritional label for your yogurt that shows 0 sugar.  I haven't found one yet that has absolutely no sugar in it.

Taking your time to eat can be hard sometimes. I was always the talkative person at the table. I try now to focus on me and not everyone else till I am done eating.

Congratulations on getting into smaller clothing.

I was a speed eater.  It has been a hard lesson to learn how to eat slowly in all situations.  I now have smaller forks and spoons that I use and that forces me to slow down and chew. I even have a set at my office!

Phew, Okay, now I think I really get this: It's not just sugar or high carbs...I've been avoiding those things like the plague for fear of dumping... but there is clearly more to it.

Last night I ate some tomato soup beefed up with some parm cheese and greek yogurt (for protein). I ate the same thing for lunch yesterday and had no problems. But last night I ate too much too fast. Was talking with hubby while he ate his dinner of pork chops, potatoes and sauerkraut. He eats very fast and I was excitedly telling him about my shopping trip with my 80 year old mother as I got into and purchased smaller clothing. I just wasn't paying attention. We finished eating in about 10 minutes flat and about 10 minutes later, I hurt. I felt nauseous. I was sweating and I just wanted to lay down. I had eaten almost 1/2 cup of my soup and normally, I cannot eat that much.

So, I know I must not push the limit of quantity or speed in eating. Glad I was home and not at work.

Sounds to me like you ate to much to fast.  If you really had dumped you would have been on the floor in extreme pain, feeling like you were dying.

Then, I hope I never experience true dumping. What I experienced was bad enough.

I was going to hit the LIKE button, Not because I LIKED what you wrote, but because it happened to me. I do try to follow the adage:  Take small bites, chew, go slowly.
