Lunch meat issues?
I don't know if it's psychological, but I can't eat lunch meat anymore. I used to eat it all the time when I first moved to solids, but when I put it in my mouth now and start to chew I gag.
It's actually really inconvenient, since I used to love the P3 snacks and meat and cheese roll ups are convenient.
Anyone else have this problem? I gag when I try, and it makes my pouch feel icky.
sodium and nitrates. Get some turkey tenderloins (breasts) and cook them up. It's real turkey, not 'turkey' roll. I also can eat lunch meat turkey from the Amish market because they just bake a turkey and take the breast off and slice it.

Some of them makes me barf. Even now. That's what I do instead:
- bake my own pork loin 4-7 lbs then use that as my lunch meat..(thinly sliced or in cubes)
- same with turkey breast
- have a few cold cuts brands - types that I know I can eat - but only if it is freshly cut - like canadian bacon deli cut fresh from publix, whole mini forest ham from WF..
I noticed that most of the cold cuts in packages are covered in some liquid (to preserve freshness) that makes me barf. The whole meat products - in most grocery deli section - they are OK for me. I always ask for a slice before they cut my 0.5-1 lbs... If it is even little bit slimy - it is no go...

A lot of people develop aversions to things after surgery. I don't know why, but I'm not sure if why really matters. The best thing to do is find alternatives.
I picked up a couple of hams on sale before christmas. I cook it and freeze individual portions. The texture is different than deli meat, so something like that might work for you.
