Sometimes being really propped up helps or possibly sleeping in a recliner.  Lots of pillow behind you so you are partially sitting up.  I didn't sleep much in the beginning either.  Just little cat naps all night and all day.

Sleeping in small spurts is a better solution than trying to get a night's rest in the beginning because your body is uncomfortable, and you can prop all the pillows in the world around you but you'll still be somewhat uncomfortable.  I also took two pillows and made one to sleep on and hugged the other...heck, I still do that.  It helped me some.  These days will pass and you'll be resting much more comfortably soon.  Take care!

Totally normal.  Use your pain meds.

If you have fresh blood that is not good. I didn't have steri strips so unsure. you could ask on the board

I found my recliner was very helpful at first.  Also, use your pain meds.  My surgeon gave me some Lortab (liquid Tylenol w/codiene), which was a good thing.  I only had to use it a couple of nights but it really helped me get to sleep.

It took patience and relaxation because I am also not a back sleeper, but it turned out to be my best solution. Recliner was more of a hassle because I use a c pap. It will settle down soon.  Bet to you.

YAY! I feel so much better today. It was not raining so I was able to get out of the house and walk. Probably 1/2 mile each time. I was tired when I got back but as soon as I rested I felt great with minimal pain. I am going to try for 1 more time before the rain starts again. Maybe more walking might help you also? I was amazed at the difference!
