Hi,

I am now 4 weeks post op, but not doing so great. I woke up this morning with bad nausea, sweats, diarrhea, and dizziness. It was so bad I thought I was going to need an ambulance.

My symptoms are nausea, chills, sweats, diarrhea, dizziness, a rushing of blood to the head when I walk or move to much. I have been having these all throughout the day today. In general I just feel sick!!

Yesterday I had protein shake with berries mixed in, mashed potatoes from shepherds pie with a bit of meat and green beans. Then a kureg Campbell's soup, and of course sipped on water in between.

today I had broth, water, sugar free Kool aid, no sugar added tangerines, potato soup.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?

i apologize if it's TMI!

All three. I was to start shrimp, flakey fish, chicken and tuna salad last Friday. I am just not to eat plain chicken, ground beef or stea****il at least this Friday. I have had shrimp, egg salad, and chicken salad. I only have 1/4 or 2-3 ounces at a time. I chew well, eat slow and have not had any issues. I am down from 236.6 to 212.4 since 12/18, so I can't complain. My doctor's plan works for me.

I was allowed to eat meat at four weeks out.  Ground beef didn't sit well, but the rest did.  I am more worried about her carb intake...

And I am also worried about the possibility of a stomach bug... that can dehydrate her quickly...

Sounds like a stomach bug.  I'd stop by the urgent care or give your doc a call, you may need fluids due to dehydration.

And on another note, why is your doctor/nutritionist letting you eat so much fruit, potatoes, etc this soon after surgery?  If this is part of his/her nutrition plan, I'd sue for malpractice... you need proteins and healthy fats right now, not carbs.  "No sugar added" tangerines does not mean "no sugar".

There's also a small chance all those carbs are causing reactive hypoglycemia, which could conceivably lead to all those symptoms... although not usually for an entire day.
