What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?

Happy First Monday of the New Year!  How's everybody feeling?   I, for one, have a great sense of relief that all these damn holidays are over.  I'm up to 149, but seeing as how I stuffed my face with relative abandon last month, I'm not freaked out by that 1 lb. gain.  But guess what I saw at Rite Aid yesterday....Effing.  Valentine's.  Day.  Candy.  Right next to the Christmas clearance.  LMAO  Thankfully, I am not as tempted by that **** as I am by the glorious carbs of holiday dinners, but still.  Must we have "themed" candy thrust in our faces all year long?

Question of the Day!  What's your resolution?  Cliché, yes, but what's your plan for the year?  I've got two:  re-evaluate my goal weight (I think I want to lower it by 5 more lbs. to 140) and start exercising.  LOL  You guys know I just don't exercise because I hate it, right?  I mean, I walk the dog, but seeing as he's a beagle, I don't exactly get my heart rate up.  Kelly knows what I'm talking about.  LOL  So, I need to find some sort of something that will keep me motivated.  Any ideas?

I saw the valentines stuff at Target, before NYE. I couldn't believe it...

I'm happy the holidays are over and looking forward to getting back into our routine. Even my son was excited to go back to school today. I'm determined to get back on track and start exercising more regularly. But, this was the first year my NY resolution didn't should something like "ok, this year I'm really going to loose weight, I mean it this time".

Good morning all!  I am back from the holiday abyss.  I did not step on the scale this morning for fear of giving myself a heart attack.  I am not happy with my behavior over the holidays but thankfully the holidays are done and I can get on with my life.  Yesterday I had my first run of 2016.  5 miles and it wasn't bad considering my exercise has been mostly non-existent for the month of December. I discovered a new running partner.  My best dog Charlie accompanied me and had a great time (although she was wiped out for the rest of the day).  I am back tri training with a new coach and a new team and I am super excited.  I should be held accountable and train hard!

New Years Resolution: I didn't make one.  However, I did make goals for 2016.  1) Finish Ironman Wiscosnin is less than 16 hours.  2) Try to spend as much time with my kiddos as possible. 3) Keep my weight stable at 145 (this will require losing what I gained over the holidays first).

Glad to hear you are back on the train mama! And that you found a running buddy too! Lily loves her walks so much that she keeps me exercising. If we can't go due to weather she pouts! We do 3.2 miles in the morning and 1.2 at bedtime and she loves both! Also keeps her energy level down so she doesn't ransack the house so much!

Oh hello, friends, I'm a long-last soul rejoining the #WLSlife... I've been wayward for far too long and I think this is the SECOND time I've made one of these "I've heard it a thousand times but it gets harder the further out you are and I need to come back into the fold to get my head on right" posts...

But anyway - HI! I've missed you ladies like crazy. Just like you, AV, I'm glad the holidays are behind us, though coming back to work with all the stupid TRAFFIC this morning was annoying as heck.

As for resolutions - blah - I don't do resolutions because they always make me a failure. I do like to make a list of a things I want to do during the year though. This year my list includes: reading 24 books, visiting my childhood BFF and her family in SC, trying a new exercise class each month, knitting a sweater for my sister, and eating more seasonally. I'm sure I'll add to this throughout the year, but this is my start.

Time since surgery: 21 months

B: coffee with creamer, DD Wake Up Wrap

S: Quest Smores bar

L: TJ's turkey meatballs with sauce and LF mozz

S: Omega Trek Mix

D: TJ's chicken sausage with ketchup

S: Chobani Tube and popcorn

TOTALS: Calories 1111, Protein 84, Carbs 98, Fat 56

V/W: started

E: water aerobics tonight

I know things are bad because I barely remember how to log. How did I become one of these people? Good news? I'm seeing a therapist who works extensively with post-WLS patients tomorrow night.

Have a good day, all!
