Couple questions

Ok, I had my RNY this past monday so I'm still in the middle of recovering and adjusting but I've noticed a lot of pain on the left side of my tummy where the biggest incision is, yet the other ones dont hurt even close to the pain this one gives... Is this normal or is it infected or something?
Also, since my stomach is way way smaller now, yet my doctor wants me to drink lots and lots of water almost constantly, wouldnt that fill up the pouch and possibly make it burst?
Sorry for the stupid questions
I had open but... as I understand laparoscopic surgery of any kind... there are several devices used cameras, scalpels, clamps, some are used/moved around more causing more impact in certain areas (bruising, scarring, etc.) so it's common for one to hurt more than others... that being said if you have other signs of an infection: fever, discharge, or are concerned I'd put a call in to the Dr.
On the water... in our new rearranged guts the pyloric valve (as well as some intestine) is bypassed so fluids flow on through.
Drink up without fear :)
Yup, liquids go right through. You could drink about 100,000 calories in a day if you wanted to.

so if liquid goes tight thru... does that mean you wont get any nutrition from drinking, say.. v8 juice and protein shakes for example?
