The power of YAY!
I just wanted to share that I had surgery on 12-21-2015. I can now dress myself ( YAY!) I can even put my own shoes on and tie them (Woot-Woot!) I can get myself in and out of bed from a lying down position without making moaning sounds ( oh yeah thumbs up ) AND was able to sleep on my side last night - no problem! (LOL) I can comfortably walk 2- 3 miles a day (not speed walking yet - (that would just be crazy yay) And I can comfortably get in all my liquids' protein and vitamins! I am on a roll people! I am off all diabetes medicine and my body has released 5 lbs for me. I am walking the dream. YAY! YAY! YAY! How about you???

I LOVE hearing from someone as positive as you are! I know so many other reactions to being 9 days out are possible. I applaud your spirit!
I hope you continue to update the boards, it'll be fun reading of all of those small victories to come from someone as upbeat as you are.
Remember this please, a low might just hit you from out of the biue like it did me. This place helped me to understand it's okay to ask for help. It might be because of how much weight I've lost that caused hormones to dump into my system all at once,
There are some really smart people here, that will help alot when your pcp can see you maybe once a month for 10 minutes. These great folks here are always here! Learn from these great minds and each day will actually get better than you ever thought! GOOD LUCK.
You are going to do amazing with your positive attitude! Take those first non scale victories and start a list. I keep a list posted on my frig of all the things I can do at 123 that I couldn't at 272 3 years ago. It helps remind me of how far I have come! And makes it easier to make good food and activity choices! You will not even be able to imagine what your new life will feel like! Congratulations!
Chugging along here- down 10 pounds since my surgery morning weight- 2 weeks out.
Got to start on pureed foods yesterday. So far I've made salmon mousse, turkey bacon gravy puree, sweet potato, cream of wheat, and cold shrimp soup.
Trying to get in 5000 steps on fitbit everyday, and been going on 30 min walks about every other day.
Off BP meds, PCOS meds, sleep apnea machine.
Wish this hematoma would go down more that I have at one of my incisions, but each day it is better looking.
I'm feeling good. Now I need to get off the couch and walk some more. Been buying jewelry on ebay and shopping for smaller clothes- lol!
Hi Everyone!
Still having YAY moments! I finally took off the steri-strips last night. The doctor told me that I could take them off 4 days ago but I was being a baby. After I took them off I had so much less pain. They must have been pulling on my skin the whole time. Yay!
Now for the BIG YAY-- I drove over to the track today to do some serious walking and threw on a pair of pants that were a little large for me. I didn't really care because it was cold and I knew that they would keep me warm. As I began to walk I had this strange sensation. All of a sudden my pants literally fell off. I mean there was no catching them. I had big fluffy gloves that were not helping the matter so it did take a moment. I got them jerked up I looked around and everyone was as shocked as I was. One of the coaches walked by me and I just said I know I was losing weight but didn't realize I was losing that much! Then everyone laughed and my most embarrassing moment was in the past. So YAY YAY YAY! aLL THOSE INCHES AND ONLY A 10 LB WEIGHT LOSS SO FAR!
