Just had my RNY

I'm glad i got it but my god I sure feel horrible. The pain. The feeling needing to pass gas but nothing comes and trying to drink the amount of water they want me to... it feels impossible. :(
Plus, I am feeling so tired like all the time
When does it get better? :(
Immediately after surgery was worse than I expected. I was feeling so good the first day that the pain and torture of day 2 really threw me through a loop. Each day after that though DID seem to (and is continuing) to get better. I'm 12 days out, some moments I still feel not great but sometimes I feel so great that I can forget that I even had surgery less than 2 weeks ago! Hang in there!
Mine was 2 weeks ago today. Thursday (2 days out) was my worst day. Tuesday when i woke up they had not put in my pain pump, only injections for pain. the surgeon I do not think was pleased about this. I got to leave wednesday evening. the pain meds were still in me so I didn't feel all the pain and gas issues till Thurs. Walking and drinking released the gas.
I feel pretty good today and I'm able to take walks usually each day if not every other day/aiming for 5000 steps a day
The first few days can really stink. It takes a while, but every day gets a little better. Hang in there.
Drink. Walk, drink, walk.
6'3" tall, male.
Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.
M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.
My first 2 weeks sucked in general. Then it got a little better. The first month or two wasn't great overall but I wasn't in pain or anything - I felt okay, I was just overwhelmed and nervous about every choice I made. But by the third month I felt more confident in what I was doing. But I never, ever regretted my choice. And 9 months out I am ridiculously happy with my RNY!!!
I gets better. With every right choice I made I got closer to being healthy and correcting all of the wrong choices I made my whole life until then. You can do it. I know you can because I did it. This site and the vets here are so helpful if you listen to their knowledge.
