This was a brilliant suggestion.  WIsh I would have thought about that about two years ago.

You are a very creative cook!

I had a pickle at about 5 or 6 weeks with no problem.  I keep them on hand for nights when I've met my protein goals but have head hunger or a craving for something I can no longer eat.  Usually hits the spot!

I got them in the soft/mushy food stage.

My NUT said is was ok to use them in deviled eggs IF I chopped them fine. We are talking SUPER fine. Like dill pickle relish fine.

Also the volume of dill pickle used for 24 deviled egg halfs was about HALF-3/4 of a pickle. I used TABLESPOON amounts of that SUPER FINELY diced pickle.

So I imagine it the volume of pickle you are eating and how finely it is cut.

You may be craving salt. Love the pickle juice idea. I'm one of those weird people with super low blood pressure and must eat salt to keep my blood pressure in the normal range (so I don't faint). In any case, I found that mushing up some capers and putting them in my eggs or fish of any kind satisfies some of that pickle craving.

I was CRAVING this after surgery so bad. I made the mistake of taking a sip of pickle juice. Nope! It burned! I would say not until you are on solid foods phase.

I think 9 months for me - I had a slice with turkey lunch meat.  I had no instructions from surgeon.
