Get those steps in shopping AV! Still feels weird being to be able to christmas sh and go online from 10,000 feet. On my way back to NY. Have a day and a half breather from food. Ugh. Just ordered 2 Christmas CDs Pentatonix for my brothers. Overnight ship Prime. Yup shopping from the sky. Have to hit the ground running when I get home. Wrapping cooking and not sure if I have all gifts covered.

B: DD turkey sausage egg wrap w. Half the bread, coffee

On plane I have: my homemade trail mix, kind bar, $7.99 ham and swiss sandwich. It may be  7 hours between breakfast and home so we will see what I eat... will have to do something.

S: premier protein

D: have no idea. Eggs maybe

S: another premier  (maybe)

Just being honest who knows?

Good morning everyone. Good luck, AV!  I'm rooting for you!  I'm not done either and planning on a shopping trip after work.  My sister in law wants a black cardigan; easy right?  No.  There is apparently not a black cardigan to be had anywhere in my part of Los Angeles.  I'm off to the Beverly Center (which I hate) because Bloomingdales claims to have ONE in her size and is allegedly holding it for me.  I don't believe it for a hot minute, but we'll see.  Yesterday I was more on track and the only junk I ate was a piece of caramel corn, yet, the scale is up 3 lbs since my last official weigh in last Friday.  This crap has got to stop.  If I stick to plan today, I should be on the road to recovery.  My exercise schedule isn't helping.  I usually take a kickboxing class on tuesday/thursday and run on Monday or wednesday.  I didn't run monday, and won't run today.  I took class last night, but the gym is closing early tomorrow so that means no class for me.  I can't get back to the gym until Saturday so if I want to exercise it will be a run.  It's COLD by me (so those of you in the midwest and east will laugh, but this So Cal. girl gets COLD when its in the 40s!!)  UGH.  I want my normal schedule back!!

B: 3.5 oz ground turkey 1 oz shredded cheese

L: hamburger patty with grilled onions and a slice of ultra thin provalone; edamame if needed

D: chicken breast and broccoli

S: Light and Fit/PB2 and Somersaults (I'm even giving up my beloved latte in the hopes of seeing downward scale movement.

TOTALS:  Cal: 955; PRotein: 106g; Fat: 39g; Carbs 36g

OK, enough complaining from me!  Have a great day, everyone!

May the force be with you at the mall tonight! I was gonna pick up a second gift for my hubby, but my finances are saying NO and my desire to wander around home depot is screaming HELL NO. we decided to head to Boston to see my sister [and parents who are visiting her] for New Years. i called to board the dog...Ugg- seems like they always come up with a new vaccine that's needed for boarding. I may call another place because I can't really afford a visit and the boarding.

Today I realized I need to put more effect into a 4th protein rich meal. I do 4 meals a day and lately I've been skimping on planning one of the four. I'm meeting my protein goal, but I could get a denser protein in. What I've been eating is definitely not 'dense' protein. Total honesty, I've been letting candy calories take the place of protein calories a little too often. So its either back to yogurt (which I'm not a huge fan of) or packing 2 small mid-day meals. I guess its better to re-evaluate now than after gaining...

Time since suregery: 7+ months

M1- 2 scrambled eggs w/ cheese, 1.5 oz Virginia ham

M2- Turkey chili

M3- (this is the space I need to plan for better- today it ended up being Reese's Pieces)

M4- I'm making baked ziti-- I'll find a way to eat it w/o the noodles.

I'm done with shopping thank goodness.

I went for my 1 week surgery follow up today. Surgeon was very happy with me and I get pureed foods starting at 2 weeks! Its a Christmas miracle

My husband is wanting a home cooked meal very badly. He has been eating fast food and sandwiches since I've been on liquids.

I feel base for him since I always cook but almost to the point where I can cook and eat a tiny bit. I think I will make him cheese eggs and toast in the morning

Today I had

Coffee protein

Water

Yogurt

Isopure water

SF popcicle

Cream of chicken

Got my protein and water today!

I hope I might be able to offer some advice, of course after following your surgeons plan. I did not do well with mashed potatoes (made me feel light-headed) and did much better with mashed sweet potatoes and I could not tolerate the pre-made SF pudding but could handle the instant box kind and was especially good with Greek yogurt oh and refried beans worked really well for me. Good luck!!

Thanks!

They already are letting me have Greek yogurt and that doesn't make me ill.

I'm  going to probably start out with the beans- seems most people do not have problems with that first.

did you freeze your leftovers in ice cube trays?

Greek yogurt is still a staple for me-luckily there are so many varieties.  I didn't end up needing to freeze any as I bought the small cans and my daughter would eat them too.

Happy Holidays to everyone celebrating over the next few days!  Please be careful those of you who are out shopping and in traffic!  I did some shopping yesterday because I wanted to get a couple small gifts and also get some flowers for my Daddy's grave as well as my Grandpa.  I found the most beautiful set at Michael's (craft store) and they were 60% off.  I was thankful because even with the discount, it was still almost $100, but anything for my beloved family who are forever in my heart and soul.

Something you guys don't know about me is that I am a Muslim.  I don't really do Christmas; though I did grow up as a Christian.  I converted to Islam about 5 years ago, and I have covered my hair before in case anyone was wondering.  I stopped covering just this year as I found it was very difficult to get a public school teaching job with a headscarf, despite my qualifications.  That's a whole other story for a whole other day.  Anyways, my side of the family does celebrate, and I give small children on that side gifts, so that's what I was shopping for.  Yes, Muslims can give gifts :)  My husband and I don't give our kids Christmas gifts because we don't celebrate but we give them gifts at the end of Ramadhan and also during Eid Al-Adha (the holiday with the sheep sacrifice).  I just didn't want you guys to feel left out in case you didn't know that about me.  I could write for years about how studying Islam has helped me with realizing the deep issues in connection with my eating, which I still struggle with.

So what will we do tomorrow?  Mid-morning, I will take my kids to go visit my brother, his wife, and kids.  I have small gifts for the kids.  I can't wait to see what Santa brought them.  My kids know they get gifts other times of the year when other kids don't, so they are totally cool with it.  After lunch, I will visit my late Daddy's side of the family.  My mother went to the beach, so she's not here and my sister lives two hours and some change away.  My husband has 2-herniated discs in his back and has been home for almost a month now (for the 3rd time this year) with a flare up.  He's going to the doctor and to chiro/therapy but it's costing us.  He didn't have insurance before, so with all his health issues this year, we got ObamaCare and it will start Jan. 1.  I can't wait to get that poor thing to the doctor; I made him an appointment at a spine specialist Jan. 5th.  He is a working man, a loving father and husband, and it's killing him to be home like this.  May God heal him hopefully.

I am totally addicted to cycling.  That's it; I'm done for :)  I downloaded a coached cycling workout and went in the spin room today and did my own 1-hr. session.  It was great.  I stayed focused and pushed myself.  I also lifted weights before that.  I hope cycling will spur my metabolism again; I know I got too comfy for what I was doing and was getting lost inside.  I am starting to see now.

Today I let my daughter pick out a sugar free cake mix and we made sf cupcakes with sf frosting.  I made 20 and each one ended up at 105 calories each.  I wanted to have some goodies around that were sf...know why?  In case I fight tomorrow, say no to all the goods, and come home depressed...there's nothing to lose if I have a cupcake at home.  I had one just a bit ago and I am so proud; I only had ONE.  That's progress and I owe it to cycling for helping me change my mentality.

Here's my food breakdown for the day:

B:  Coffee, sf creamer, 3 turkey sausage links, egg whites, 1/2 slice lowfat provolone, 1/2 scoop Isoflex PB Chocolate Protein, Light N Fit Greek Yogurt (I needed extra cals before a hard workout)

L:  1/2 serving shakshouka, fresh cut green beans, 6 brussel sprouts, 3 pieces of natural turkey breast, 1 light string cheese

S:  I made some SF protein bars, it was a first go...and I ate one, 1 sf cucpake

D:  2 servings of turkey pepperoni and 2 slices of lowfat provolone (I made like two mini roll ups with cheese on outside and pepperoni on inside, microwaved for 20 sec and then rolled them up), cut green beans (fresh), baby kale & spinach & cherry tomato salad, 2 tbsp light Olive Garden dressing

S:  Light N Fit Greek Yogurt

Cals:  1187

Protein:  123g

Carbs:  75g

Fat:  43g
