What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
It is pouring here, you guys. And it looks like rain right up until Friday, too, when it's supposed to be almost 70 degrees. So Christmas-y.
Peachpie posted this in another thread, but I feel the need to reiterate: no. more. Christmas. cookies. I can't stand it anymore. This season of indulgence needs to end, stat. Last night my son's friend's father gave us a huge tray of homemade cookies, including my beloved Neapolitans. I hate him. LOL I pretty much ended up eating at maintenance yesterday and I kind of hate myself, too. My goal for today is to stick to my planned menu. Ugh.
Question of the Day! What's your go-to karaoke song? Even if you don't actually sing karaoke, you know you have one, so spill. Mine is No Scrubs by TLC. LMAO

Have a great day!!
I am soooo pissed off at myself right now. I am STILL letting the stress of everything get to me, and eating **** that should NOT be crossing my lips. I have gained 3.2 lbs so far. I am serious scared of how out of control I feel. I was crying this morning from feeling out of control and worrying about not even getting to goal yet and ALREADY ******g this up. We always have snacks in the office, all carby junk. This is all year, not just around the Holidays. I was SO GOOD at staying away from them for the past, well OVER year, now it is getting way to easy to grab something quick when I use the bathroom. I have to walk by the JUNK FOOD cabinet to get to my office.
I still find it very uncomfortable to eat dense protein, I eat very slow, and try to make sure its moist and I use dressing or whatever to help even more with moisture. But whenever i eat even 1.5oz of chicken/pork/beef ...whatever, I feel like I have a friggin bowling ball in my stomach. I feel horrible for a long time after. So I think part of my brain is like....then DONT EAT the dense protein....sliders are so much easier and go down better. That part of my brain needs to SHUT THE HELL UP!!! gggrrrrr This is going to lead me to being 300 plus pounds again if I can't get this under control!
Today's goal is to stick with my planned menu, no grabbing a quick anything....no unplanned snacking etc.

Sorry for the rant up there, I just need to tell people who "get it", and that is YOU all! LOL
Sorry about the gain. Would chewing gum help? I know I don't like to mess up that fresh minty flavor when i chew on a piece of gum, so it helps me taking 'quick bites and tastes'.
I don't have any insight on how to handle the dense proteins. Do you think you are chewing enough? Pork is still difficult for me so its always last on my list to eat, so I get the brain telling you just eat around whats giving you trouble.
You did it, and can keep doing it! Save those tears for the joy of making goal!

I chew and chew and chew. I guess I can try and chew even more. I actually don't eat pork very often, only deli ham really. Every time I have tried to eat pork I get sicked horrible slim for hours after. NO FUN!!!
I brought up the dense protein thing at my last appointment with the bariatric program. The NP was like.......you need to eat more calories.....ummm HELLO LADY I get that, but can you help with the dense protein thing?? She had a one track mind that day....eat more eat more eat more....WTF

This was my issue with the band. Dense proteins were not just uncomfortable, they were impossible! My only suggestion is to marinate the hell out of everything, experiment with sauces, and never even attempt left-overs!!!!!

I won't say no more because Christmas is my day to indulge...but no more before then, and no more after LOL.
No input on the question of the day today-- I only listen to music to exercise-- I have no interest in it otherwise.
Time since surgery: 7+ months
M1: Egg beaters, shredded cheese and virginia ham
M2/M3: 4oz Chicken breast, w/black beans with cheese and sour bream
M4: Turkey Chili
I would LOVE a protein shake today but I'm out of powder and my amazon subscribe order doesn't ship till 1/7, I see no point in adding another order before then, so I'll just have to deal.

I love karaoke! I wonder if I'll love it now that I'm 100% sober. Hmm. But my favorite go-to song is Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive. It's s great one.
Today is already a much better day. No more pouting. Putting on my big girl panties and gearing up for a 15 hour day at work (I've already been here since 6am!). I brought tons of food with me that I don't think I'll really eat. We'll see!
B: Dunkin "egg and cheese wake up wrap" and coffee with milk
S: babybell and almonds
L: Sargento balanced break and carrot sticks
S: Laughing cow and thin addictive
S: Finn crisp and provolone cheese
D: I doubt I'll eat when I get home at 10pm, so I have extra almonds to munch on in the car.

Good morning all. I had my Christmas cookie binge last week and now I seem to be on to the Christmas candy. Ugh... Calgon take me away. I also haven't been exercising. I am taking this week off, not of work, but of worrying about things. I will still log my food and try to be good but I am not going to fret about things. My body tells me when I am done and I am going to listen to it but not worry if some extra M&Ms go into my gullet so be it. I will pay the piper next week. I also start triathlon training in 2 weeks so I know I'm in for a long year...
I have sang Karaoke twice in my life. Celebrate Good Times (Horrible choice) and a Dixie Chicks song. Neither were good. I do sing a mean Blink 182 in RockBand on the Playstation though...
