One year and one day
Yesterday was my surgiversary. I didn't post because I was on a 17 hour field trip with 5th and 6th graders. As we say in the south, "bless my heart." Today we are having our school holiday party for 5th-8th grade. We started with a brunch hosted by wonderful parents. I ate a piece of spinach and egg crustless quiche and a scoop of fruit. After our brunch, we do line dances. The teacher who usually leads them was otherwise occupied. So I hopped up in front the middle school students and their parents and energetically led "The Cupid Shuffle," "Cha cha slide," and a few others. I was sweaty, but not exhausted.
For the last year, I have wondered what my surgiversary post would be. It's not about the weight loss and how much further I have to go. It is that I'm living, and living well. Happy holidays to all of you. If you are beginning your journey, congratulations. Veterans, thanks for the inspiration.

I thank you, too. I have enjoyed reading your posts all along. Our surgiversaries are not far apart! Mine is coming up in 2 weeks. For me, due to some family challenges, living well has been hard this year, but it would have so much harder without the surgery. I loved reading about the Cupid Shuffle.
Also, bless bless bless your heart. I have such appreciation and respect for all the great teachers who have influenced me and my 4 children. What a great example you must be to these children and your school community. Thank you for your positive attitude on the board, too.
