Good morning,
My commute was a bit hellish this a.m. as I had to stop at our company's insurer to pick up plates for a couple of vehicles at our newest acquisition. I don't mind doing errands, it gets me out of the office a bit, but this insurance company is in an busy office park and directly across the street from a charter school, so traffic there is a nightmare at 8:00 a.m.
We used to have a NYE party every year with our neighbors and a few other friends, but we moved 4 years ago (about one mile away) and haven't had one since. I would like to reinstate the party, but the hubby is not feeling it. AV, I love your family game night. We used to do more game nights too, but as the kids get older, those nights become more infrequent.
Time since surgery 8 months
B: Premier Protein Shake (still trying to get this down, not feeling so great this a.m.
L: Roast beef, provolone one slice soft wheat bread. Cupboard is pretty bare today, hopefully I can get this down.
S: ? Lots of stuff here, none of it good for me. I have a yogurt and a clementime, but not feeling it.
D: ? Maybe a couple scrambled eggs, nothing appeals to me today.
Traffic was better than usual here too. My commute has been especially long this week because my poor husband fell down the stairs and sprained his right ankle. Normally he drops me off at the metro and then goes to work, but since he can't drive I have to take him to work, then drive to the metro, then deal with the nightmare that is finding parking at the metro. Today was my last day of that, hopefully, because I am teleworking part of next week and then off for a few days.
For New Years, I always feel guilty if I don't at least stay up and watch the ball drop on TV, but it does seem sort of stupid. Maybe I should take a cue from Deanna798 and have people over for a game night. I would actually enjoy that.
This is my first attempt to post a photo in a post. That was a lot of steps to post a picture. I found this old pic of me yesterday, and happened to wear the same sweater today (yes, 100 lbs later, same sweater), so I thought I'd do a side by side. I sort of think the "today" photo looks like I stretched out a photo of me from back then.

Weeee, you look fabulous! I am saving some of my clothes to be able to do a pic in them when they are huge on me. I can't wait until i can stand in one leg of the pants that I wore to the hospital, that will be a victory photo.
Also, I love the sweater. It's the kind of sweater that looks good at almost any size.
Invite friends over. I'm lucky and the couple that is coming over both had WLS this year, so I can keep the food in line and not go overboard. My friend had VSG in March with lots of complications, so she had revision to RNY the day before my surgery. To date she has lost over 120lbs and wears a size 3/4! I know she had a head start on me, and she looks so awesome. She brought over some of her size 12s and I can't wait to get into them. :) Her husband had VSG in June. I'm lucky to have RL friends who've had WLS and can relate to the journey.
Good morning! Traffic was light for me too. I'm happy about that since I think it will carry through the holidays and I can't take a single day off of work. Boo. Our firm's holiday party is this afternoon, so I quick three hours of work for me and then off to party. Our lunch is at Mastro's Steakhouse and I'm torn . . . do I order the 22oz bone in ribeye and have it for my next 7 meals or should I go for the more dignified 12oz filet and just get 3-4 meals out of it??? Decisions, decisions, decisions . . . I'm actually fairly concerned about lunch. While it's all WLS friendly, there will be such an abundance of it, I'm going to have to make sure I don't mindlessly eat while socializing.
NYE? I don't love driving on NYE, so we normally invite friends over, cook a nice late dinner then play games or watch movies. Some of our favorite games are catchphrase, heads up, or trivial pursuit (although we basically abandon the board and just break up into teams and give points for correct answers. Always a fun night!
My meal plan is non-existent today because of the party. I know I will have protein at lunch but that's about it
B: Overnight oats
L: some sort of beef (4oz)
D: ??????
S:?????
Going to do my best to be at or under 1200 cals for the day. Already have a plan in place to run and then take a circuit class on the off chance all hell breaks loose today at lunch. Wish me luck!!

I can't complain about traffic today myself; it was pretty good here too in the Carolinas! My students were so good to me; way better than I deserve. My desk is covered in gifts and I love all my babies so much. This morning we had a work breakfast and I did partake of like the oatmeal stuff that was there. I didn't have my normal morning coffee protein to replace that. I also didn't eat snack and ate my regular asparagus and shakshouka for lunch. I have so many goodies and I did give out all my chocolate already. I hope that I can stay on track during my planning period; I will force myself to stay busy.
My husband has two herniated discs which flare up from time to time, and they are really giving him a fit at the moment. He's been to the chiro and he's frustrated because he doesn't want to do a series of therapy, he wants his problem fixed. He doesn't have insurance until Jan. 1 so he has some prednisone and pain meds to get him through and hopefully he will keep going for adjustments and acupuncture at the chiro. I am not working out today because he needs some attention; he even fussed at his family overseas on the phone because they didn't have time to send him medicine from his country asap. He is just overly frustrated and needs some family TLC, so I will sacrifice a gym day. Hey, maybe we can do some yoga off the tv like Deanna! I've honestly never done it but I could stand to.
I don't ever do anything on New Years. My husband is a taxi driver and that's a busy night for him. I always fall asleep. I wish I could force myself to stay up and make a little tradition with the kids but I go to bed with the chickens.
So I have no idea about the stats for today because I don't know how many calories and all were in that oatmeal thing I ate for breakfast. I've been on track otherwise so I'll be okay today...long as I don't get all snacky tonight!!!
Happy Friday y'all!!!!
I'm late to the party today-- had a hectic morning. Ran into work for an hour than was off to an arbitration hearing, then off for the 8-month follow up with my surgeon. So my photo today is my progress pic, which will also be displayed in my surgeon's office. I'm doing well, though he's prescribing an iron supplement. (He's not fond of the OTC options).
NYE-- the kids and I try to stay up-- last few years I have to set an alarm @ 11:45pm LOL. We drink apple cider out of the "fancy glasses". My husband is in church, every year. (I quit going years ago.)
