Good Morning all!  So, remember when I said I wasn't feeling the Christmas spirit this year?  I'm still not, don't get all excited, LOL.  But my husband and son knew I was feeling down and they tried to decorate the tree before I got home last night to surprise me.     On one hand, I love that they did this for me to try and lift me up.  On the other hand, I am a control freak and I've never not been the one to put the ornaments on the tree.  Obvs, my 10 year old is not going to hang them the way I would so they're all bunched together and it's.  killing.  me.  I need to move them so there's symmetry or I will go insane.  LMAO  I think I need medication.  Or vodka.  Same thing.

Question of the Day!  Favorite Christmas special.  Not movie; special.  I love love love Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas.  I own 2 copies (one of them has the original Kermit intro!) and know every single word.  I also like Year Without a Santa Claus.  Because Heat Miser.  LOL

That  was sweet of them! I know what you mean about putting the decoration on yourself. When my kids were smaller I bought them each their own mini tree for their rooms so they could decorate theirs while I decorated "mine" in peace LOL. They still do their trees, but now also want to do the big tree. I've let it go and let them go at it.

Christmas Special-- none that I can think of-- I only know of movies.

Time since surgery ~8 months

M1- two boiled eggs (and was totally disappointed I was out of turkey sausage)

M2- Salad with chicken breast

M3- I took out left over ham/collared greens from Thanksgiving from the freezer

M4: more than likely nothing

How about Rudolph?  That's my son's fave.  And my husband likes Charlie Brown Christmas.  We own a ton of Christmas specials on DVD and my son has been watching at least 2 a day for a couple of weeks now.

My kids are 6 and 7... they each have a tree in their room that they get to decorate also. This year I caved and let them decorate "my tree". It was killing me at first - clumps of ornaments on the bottom. But then they started singing Christmas songs together as they decorated and were helping each other get to places the other couldn't reach........ I got over the imperfections and realized that it was worth them getting so excited and enjoying it so much.

MY body hurts all over! Last night was day 2 of 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene (Youtube series) and I'm so sore. I can't do everything that she does, but I do the best I can. I know it will get easier, but my upper abs are so sore it hurts to laugh. I'm determined to do this, I like the fact that I really feel like I'm working out (since I sweat and my muscles quiver in despair) but I'm not jumping around like a maniac. And what really surprised me is that MFP has yoga catagorized as cardio. It does get my heart pumping.

I was really good with food yesterday, no unplanned snacking and I even ate a little less than my plan and still made my protien goal for the day. That being said, every year my boss bakes cookies, incredible traditional christmas cookies. Her homemade gingerbread is so good my hubby and I have always fought over it. She asked me if I still wanted them, and I said yes. My intention is to put them out on Christmas when company is over, but it's going to be very hard to resist the St. Nicks, and the gingerbread, and the Kieflies. nom, nom, nom. I just have to remember what happened when I ate some caramel corn the other day, uugghh. She just came in and didn't bring them today, so I'm safe!

My favorite Christmas Special is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, I love Hermie and I love the misfit toys. It makes me smile.

My plan for today is great. Feeling good about my intake. unfortunately the scale did not move like I hoped it would, so I'm waiting with anticipation for ONEderland. I know it will happen, I just have to be patient.

Time since surgery 4.5 months

B: Light and Fit and coffee with SF peppermint mocha coffeemate

L: chicken veggie soup and grape tomatoes with fat free feta (no dressing)

D: TJs Andouille Sausage (maybe) I have never had the andouille and if it's too spicy, I will skip and have shrimp instead. Possibly a 2tbs brown rice (it's logged)

S: 1/2 oz beef jerky and a light baby bel

Cal 640 protein 70 carb 47 fat 18

I may have a small snack this evening, but will try to keep it protein forward, and I'll update my log.

Have a great day!

I have ONEDERLAND as my motivation.  It's the perfect time for this to happen,  it will keep me honest.  Plus, I'm being really good this week because I know next week will be harder. One of my coworkers brought gifts today,  since it's his last day here until street the new year. I have a nice bottle of wine for the holidays to.  He's a wine guy,  and I'm clueless about wine.  I haven't had alcohol since surgery,  but I may try a glass of this on Saturday.

Just make sure you have the wine while at home, and take it slow. Also realize although the effects may seem to wear off the alcohol actually stays in our system longer.

Onederland is a great motivation... having just reached it. My fear of course is popping back out of onederland... I am a weigh myself everyday to keep me on track person, and am leaving for Florida for 4 days on Saturday and hate that I won't be able to weigh myself. Especially during such a precarious season.
