Just had my first MD appointment with surgeon
Well, to be totally correct, I had my first appointment with the practice and I saw the surgeon for about 5 minutes :) But the nurse practitioner was very nice and they were very thorough. I was as honest as I could be with them: I want this surgery because nothing else is working, I have sleep apnea that I want cured, and I want to feel good about myself again.
They scheduled all my pre op appointments right then and there, so that starts January 11.
I can't believe I'm seriously considering doing this. Part of me feels like I'm "cheating" or don't have enough willpower to do it on my own, and people will think I'm taking the easy way out. As a nurse, I know intellectually this is not an easy way out, but I have to communicate that to my feelings :)
Peace,

I'm a RN as well, so understand your feelings. I've always been taught=negative calorie expenditure=weight loss. Which, is true, but not so easy for me. I've just started the process, am about 3 weeks into my 90 day wait period, so maybe we will be on the same timeline. Best of luck!
