Hey Deb!

Congrats on 7 years. I, too, am celebrating 7 years soon (on January 8). We've been around this place a long time. I personally lurk more than I post but I haven't ever 100% left lol.

Question for you. If you could go back and tell your newly post-op self stuff to make the journey easier, what would you tell yourself?

I think it will be your 8th year is my math is correct.

I can't think of anything I would tell my new post op self. I think being on here everyday and hearing all the possibilities helped. I love that one of my first posts was "can I have mashed potatoes?"

I had a vision of losing weight to get a kidney. I will say I got a great deal more. I didn't know that with this surgery you have the possibility of staying within the same weight range. I didn't know that was possible. I did that for about 3 years. I've slowly put on weight the last 3 years. I also know I can lose it again. I know if I ask for support I can get it.

I think I already knew but it's been reinforced to be truthful with a side of kind on posts. I've tried to do that.

Good to see you Nik. I think your Thanksgiving shooter recipe is one of my all time favorites.

I meant to say 8 but...I didn't. #Scatterbrain

I ask everyone that when they hit 5 years and up because I'm curious. I know for me it would be to ENJOY the process of getting healthier. I was always worried about something or feared I was failing. I was doing just fine. I would tell my old self that. You are doing just FINE. Enjoy the energy. Enjoy fitting into the outfits you always wanted to wear. Enjoy even the compliments. Just enjoy discovering who you are when your entire identity isn't tethered to obesity.

Congratulations, Deb on your success and WELCOME BACK!!!!

So glad to see some more long term post ops posting again.  I think that we bring a lot to the table for those that are just staring out.  We all have something to share from our journey that might be helpful to someone here.

So glad you are back with us, Deb!

Seven years seems amazing. I really agree that it is one day at a time.

Awe, Deb, you have always been one of my favorites from day one. I was probably one of the ones who annoyed you, but I hope you got over that
