Straws Post Surgery
Some programs say no. There is a belief that you can suck in air and be uncomfortable. If it bothers you, don't use yhem, but I have heard of very, very few people whom it bothered.

My program says no, and I *legit* tried for the first few weeks, but it wasn't working. I found could double my fluid intake with a straw and it never gave me unwanted air.

My program says no the first few weeks while you are healing. Then try it and see how it goes. I started using a straw at about one month out, as I found it much easier to get my water in that way. Never caused a problem. They also say no to soda for the first 6 months. Then you can have it occasionally if it agrees with you. Still doesn't agree with me.....
