Pain and Tightness After Eating

I have this exact same symptom!! You're not alone!

I'm on my seventh week post-op and the first time the pain/tightness in my chest/neck/throat happened was the first time I ate actual solid food, but then it also happened yesterday when all I had was chicken noodle soup. I think it may be from mixing solid food with water too fast (not leaving 30-45 minutes between the two).

If could also be from eating too fast. It was particularly painful last night when I was at a friend's house party and had a bite of pizza then sat there in distress trying not to show how painful it was. My solution is usually just to stop eating or slow down, and it usually stops after a few minutes. Does that sound familiar, or is it different for you?

I am more than eight years out and never had pain like what I experienced in the last week.  The muscle relaxer before eating worked and my food went through with no pain.  My pain was happening about one hour after eating anything.  It felt like my pouch was trying to empty and everything was stuck.  Doctor said that the muscles where too tight.

Oh wow! Maybe then what I had was more from just eating too fast, rather than what you had... Feel better!!
