What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?

Happy Monday (if there is such a thing!). My Saturday was busy running here there and everywhere for the kids. I did manage to hit my favorite thrift store and got a few items. I got the cutest black corduroy skirt ever, brand new with tag in a size 16 (not 16W...just plain old 16). When I was looking at it I was kind of 'hiding' it, thinking someone was going to say that there is no way it'd fit me. (Sadly-- YES I've had that happen before).  I was so proud of myself you'd have thought I got away with murder!  Its a little on the tight side- but should fit fine within a month.

We got our tree up and even put out the few outside decorations we have that I've ignored for the past few years. I'm  annoyed with my sister who called me and told me how much she hated my decorations (my son posted to Instagram) and I shouldn't have bothered. The same sister who "doesn't do Christmas", (cause her heart is apparently 5 sizes to small- like the Grinch). No, we won't be on the great Christmas light fight-- but my son is ecstatic we are the only ones on the street with outside decorations so she can take go hell with her high and mighty attitude. Sorry for the impromptu vent.

Time since surgery 7 months

Today's meals:

M1: Scrambled eggs w/ cheese and Virginia ham with blackberry all-fruit

M2 &M3: Protein shake (feeling anti-eating again)

M4- not sure-- I was hoping I'd made enough meatloaf last night for left overs. I'm thinking Taco salad.

Enjoy the lights and your son's happiness.  Ignore your grinchy sister.  You don't need the negativity.

Morning, AV, menu gals (and guys). I had a crazy weekend. I mentioned last week that I was going to this store called Bronners Christmas Wonderland. I don't know why I try this every year, but apparently the entire state of Michigan, as well as portions of the surrounding states, decided to go to Bronners Christmas Wonderland on Saturday. We could barely walk through the place. There were 240, yes, 240 other children in line in FRONT of my son to see Santa. So, we skipped Santa, stayed all of an hour then went to the outlet mall nearby. Even the outlet was insane. There were lines outside of some of the stores and they weren't letting people in until others came out. But, I did score a nice North Face hoodie for running for $22.

Sunday we went shopping at the local mall to finish up our Christmas shopping. I got everything done! And while we were there, we noticed that Santa didn't even have a line. So we walked right in, my kiddo took a great picture with a wonderful smile, and it was awesome. I never got him there last year, and I'm so glad that I did this year. These are the memories that matter. I got ALL of my shopping done, except for the secret santa gift for my coworker. But I'm getting her a gift card for Groupon (weird, but she buys groupon all the time and I think she'll appreciate it). I do need to get a token gift for my mom. She said she wanted a Fitbit for Christmas, and lookie here, i had a Fitbit Zip still in the package that they gave me at work earlier this year. I think after her cancer scare and her quitting smoking she's really starting to think about her health more, so I want to get her something to go with the Fitbit. Any suggestions? So far my work has given me a Fitbit Flex, a Fitbit Zip and an iPod shuffle in the last 2 years to promote exercise and health. I like the Fitbit flex, but it's been sitting and needs to be charged so I can start using it again. It's on my list of things to do this week.

I ate out a lot this weekend. I had chicken gallaba on Saturday, no rice or anything, but sauteed chicken and peppers on hummus. Then I are Arby's, but only had the some of the meat and none of the bun. Then yesterday we went to Red Robin while we were out shopping. I had a guacamole burger with no bun, and I ate about 1/4 of it. I've been craving a burger lately and it really hit the spot. A couple sweet potato fries with it and I was in heaven. I also had a bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper. I sipped a little out of it thoughout the day, and my hubby drank about 1/4 of the bottle. Then I shook that puppy up and left the cap off for half an hour and it was DELICIOUS! I think it's going to be a special treat for me to have one on the weekend. Yummy. Overall my weekend was good, if anything my protein and calories were too low, but we were so busy it was hard to plan much.

Here's my plan for today:

B: hard boiled egg and coffee with cream and splenda

L: left over burger from Red Robin sans guacamole.

D: ??? no idea. I forgot to pull anything out. I may have TJs chicken sausage, or shrimp and veggies.

S: Light and Fit yogurt

Totals without dinner:

Cal 552 Protein 35 Carb 20 Fat 36

I'll have to have a high protein dinner and add a high protein snack. Most likely a click mocha.

PS. What is wrong with the pictues? EVERY picture goes in sideways now. I've tried to flip it on my phone and reupload it and it never goes in properly. Can I log a ticket with OH for that? LOL

I love the pic!!

Re: the fitbit for your Mom-- if shes not tech savvy and hates to have multiple devices to charge- I'd say give her the Zip. It runs on a battery that'll last upwards of 3 months. (Its what my son has). They really appreciate not having another device to change.

BTW-- I wanna work for your company!!!

My company is very progressive when it comes to health.  Every year we get cash bonuses for our medical and dental annual exams,  they give us prizes for participating in "Wellness Incentives" this summer we were broken up into teams and  logged our exercise for 6 wks via the insurance website. We all got t-shirts and prizes. If you participate in 2 programs throughout the year, you get $50 visa gift card in December. I should be getting it soon.

If they only paid more, lol.

UGH!  I hear ya on the  crowds.   My daughter and I went to a local Christmas store, just to find a tree skirt.  I could not believe how many people were there.  It was mayhem!
