Does anyone eat salads?
I am 1 year out and doing great. I have lost 122 lbs. I would like to know if anyone would just eat a lettuce salad. How do you measure how much? I measure everything but not sure about this.
I eat salad all the time. The lettuce does not have many calories (I think one cup has maybe 5 calories). You have to be careful with the amount of salad dressing and other stuff you put on it.

I've been eating salads since I was cleared for all foods at 6 weeks post-op. Just be sure to not overdo the dressing and toppings.

I eat teeny tiny salads! They are like 1/6 c of lettuce (usually spinach or kale) and then the rest is protein "toppings", like chicken, HB egg, slivered almonds, etc. I put some low-sugar cranberries on top for flavor sometimes, too. I rarely use dressing, but if I do, just a drop.
When I eat salads at work (where there is a salad bar), it's usually a few pieces of spinach, and a lot of chicken, cheese, hard boiled egg and ranch dressing. Lettuce, especially iceberg, is a pretty empty source of nutrition.

I am not a doctor, but I play one at work.
I'm 4 months out and I love salad. I eat romaine lettuce or baby spinach with cucumbers and other veggies and I use Skinny Girl Salad Dressing that only has 10 calories per 2 tbsp. I usually add shrimp or chicken for protein. I cannot stomach iceberg lettuce, it makes me really sick when I eat it.
Also, another good thing about eating salad, at least for me. Since I started eating it weekly, I have had much less constipation.
I eat salad all the time and I rely on fullness, not measuring, to know how much. However, a critical part of letting fullness "speak for itself" is that your salad has to be exceptionally healthy. Mine are typically nothing more than vegetables, no croutons, cheese, or anything like that, and dressed with only a bit of balsamic vinegar. Salads like this will fill you up long before you can eat enough calories to derail yourself.
