Hiccups

Question.... I know hiccups are bad after surgery but at what point should I be concerned? I usually hiccup 3-4 times after I eat but tonight I had hiccups for a good 15-20 min. Should I inform my Dr or see if they keep happening and then let him know?

what makes you think hiccups are bad  after surgery. 

Hiccups for some ppl is a signal that they are full or overfull.

In my after surgery papers it says call your Dr if you have persistent hiccups. 

Hiccups and a runny nose are common signs that you've eaten too much. Measure your portions and eat less.

That's good to know because I had a runny nose this evening too. I must have just over eaten an not realized it. I'm definitely going to be more careful!

I kind of chuckled when I read this....not at your post at myself....my family laughs at me all the time...I have 1 hiccup when I am hungry and 2 hiccups after I eat when I am full.  Has happened since the surgery.

Lol it seems like I have about 3 hiccups when I'm full. I have been very in tune to my body since this post and have recognized all the signs of being full, runny nose, hiccups etc. Its amazing what your body does to trigger your brain that you're full. Lol
