Got the approval!

My doctors office called yesterday to tell me my insurance approved my surgery!! I have an appointment today to meet with the surgeon again and schedule my date. I will have it done before the end of the year. It is crazy how fast this final step went. I am getting a little nervous though. I have a 6 and 7 year old and my hubbs will be out of town for work....and add the holidays into the mix.......any advice would be much appreciated! 

Get it taken care of as soon as possible.  Insurance companies are notorious for making changes in January. I was 59 years old and had surgery on a Tuesday.  Was back home on Thursday, doing light housework by Saturday and back at a desk job on Monday. 

I followed my plan for walking, sipping liquids and felt amazing.  I kept waiting to "get weak, get sick or something" but just got better every day.

Surgery was such a non-event for me and I was so worried before the surgery/

I got my date  for the 18th. Luckily I have vacation that week so I will have time to rest some. I am an ER nurse, so I run for 12-13 hours straight -- I am lucky when I get a bathroom break! He said I will go in Friday, come home Sunday -- Saturday if I am lucky. I hope Saturday - I hate hospitals... lol

I think a winter surgery in great because you should have a lot of your energy back come spring.  With young children, it would be harder to do what I did for the Holiday 2012, which was NOTHING.  It was my favorite Holiday Season ever--filled with a Blessed feeling like never before.  In fact, it has since prompted me to get rid of a giant stash of decorations, quit some gift-giving, stop over-indulgence, and focus more on enjoying life how it was meant to be--SIMPLE.

What date are you set for? I will have mine in 2 weeks. I am all sorts of nervous and scared. 

I have mine the 18th! Just two weeks also. I am nervous and excited. I just want to get started with my new life!

That is cool, I have mine on the 15th it is coming up pretty soon I can't believe the date is almost here I feel like it came super fast. Will you return to work soon after?

I chose 12-21-2015. I was excited that they are letting me go in Christmas week. The Kids Grandpa is coming to stay while I am in the hospital to hold the fort down. Two teenage boys would have the house tore up before I could get home from the hospital. I  hope I don't need help from them when I get home. I'll be competing with the xbox. I am going to ask to stay a long as my insurance company will allow me to. LOL. What date did you choose?

With two little ones and my husband gone for another month and a half and Christmas - it is going to be a little crazy. But we live with crazy in my house.

I have vacation already the week before Christmas so it works out well.
