Doxycycline after RNY?
Happy to help.
I am a scientist that likes to mess with ideas and your issue is medically interesting. It doesnt hurt to ask your dermatologist. I also think Racewalker is a great resource for perhaps determining HOW it is done. She has some very valuable knowledge, training, and experience.
Me? I am all theory

Saw my doctor today. She had a new alternative to Metro gel for a topical called Soolantra. Unfortunately, it's excluded by my insurance, and very expensive. I did get a golden ticket and some samples. Heading to the pharmacy tonight to see how cheap I can get this stuff.
May have been easier to get to get doxy in a topical form. Lol
PS. I am glad you pointed out that the article wasnt for her condition. My point in posting it was that the drug can be compounded into a topical formulation.
Now- the salt the doc and pharmacist use is up to them. And then docs often do prescribe medication for off-labeling purposes...

Rosacea can be related to SIBO.. google that. I know that when my SIBO flares - I know because my rosacea is acting up big time...

I have severe rosacea. I've tried lots of different things, but the only thing that has been even remotely successful for me is a couple of weeks of doxycycline. It's not on my doctors list of drugs to avoid, but tetracycline is, and I specifically asked my surgeons PA about doxy. She spent 10 minutes reading while I sat there and then kinda shrugged. So, my question is, has anyone ever taken doxycycline post RNY and if so, did they have any specific issues?
Drugs.com says to ask your doctor, my doctor was vague and not helpful. I am in the middle of a bad breakout and not only is it unsightly, it's really, really uncomfortable.
This is what I'm dealing with people.
sorry for the sideways pic, I don't know why it does that. The pic on my PC is upright. I've tried flipping it and uploading again and it doesn't help.
too bad Metro gel didn't work for you. It was great forme. An interesting note, about a year after my sleeve, and going grain/ carb free,my roseacea went into remission and my face is no longer ever red.
You are right to worry about your nose. My dad also had it. And his nose got grossly enlarged and completely changed shape and got very doughy looking. I. Totally didn't want mine to do that so I have also been very pro active.
Maybe yours will go into remission also.
