What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Just dive on in! That's what I just did.
I use an app called My Fitness Pal which calculates my totals. Fitday.com or other websites will enable you to log your food and calculate your totals easily as well. give it a whirl!

137 pounds lost - from a 24/26W to a size 8/10!
Just jump in! I also use My Fitness Pal to track my food intake and protein/calorie counts. And I do weigh everything so I can be as accurate as possible. I don't measure because you can fit a whole lotta food into a 1/2 c. measuring cup. Using a food scale give you the most accurate info.
Like, if I was making your salad, I would weigh each ingredient separately so I would have a total weight for the entire batch. Say the whole thing is 20 ounces, I would enter the recipe on MFP as 20 1 oz. servings. If I take a 4 oz. serving for lunch, then I know I need to enter 4 servings to get the actual calorie/protein/carb count for that meal.
It's funny how motivating that streak is, isn't it? I'm at 276 days and I'm petrified of losing it, so I MUST track. When I went in for my revision/repair and knew I wasn't going to be able to eat that day, I was seriously worried about my streak -- then I found that the barium swallow stuff was in the system so I tracked that and it was enough to keep the streak going. I think, technically, the barium thing happened the day AFTER surgery, but whatever, I wasn't loosing my streak just because I couldn't eat!

Hey all,
Good to be here again - it's been a long time since I did the menu post! Well I'm still doing ok on the program but have drifted from daily MFP tracking and I'm snacking more than I should. All health y snacks but grazing is grazing, so my goal is to make logging in MFP a habit again. This means you should see me on the thread more frequently again!
Did very well on Thanksgiving. Gravy was my splurge, and I made cranberry sauce and pumpkin custard (no crust) with Splenda products. So, lower carb and no sugar, and I honestly was very happy with my choices. The gravy was an excellent splurge choice - it really made the Thanksgiving meal! Next year I will feel ready to have a little stuffing but I didn't feel ready just yet. Not judging anyone else's choices here, just saying, that was my choice this time.
So anyway, here is my plan for Monday:
Time since surgery: 8 months
B - Protein Shake (Unjury Chocolate with 1% milk)
S - Starbucks Decaf Skinny Latte
L - 1 c. Chicken Chili, 2% shredded cheese
S - Dannon light and fit peach
D - Mexican Beef and Bean Back (Eggface)
E - Leslie Sansone "Burn 30" workout
Totals: 710 cals, 73 protein, carbs, 15 g fat
That's all she wrote, today at least. Thanks everyone and have a fabulous Monday!
Christine

Thanksgiving weekend was glorious! I ran Thursday morning at a Turkey Trot 5K and managed my first ever official sub-30 min 5K. Official time was 29:46.7. I was thrilled. Thanksgiving itself was meh. I worked on Friday, but it was a ghost town so not so bad. Saturday and Sunday were amazing. Its the first time in 12 weeks I haven't had to teach swimming lessons over the weekend. I love teaching but it was nice to have a weekend to do nothing. My hubbie, who has been low carb for months, decided this was going to be a cheat weekend. So I ate with him. Everything I shouldn't have... cookies, pasta, tortillas, candy, it was yummy but I feel disgusting. I didn't even step on the scale this morning because I don't want to see it (I will tomorrow). I've decided to carb detox this week. I'm going to try and keep my carbs under 50g this week. Anyone with me?
