It starts with a 1 !!!!!!!!!
I don't post very often however I do check out the boards on almost a daily basis to get inspiration and ideas etc....
Today the scale finally started with a 1!!! 199.6 as of this morning. I started this journey last August at 386 pounds when I attended my first seminar about the options for weight loss (RNY,sleeve, banding etc). I had RNY surgery 12/3/14 and my weight that morning was 344 pounds. My personal goal was to have the scale start with a 1 by by my 1 year surgevisary and I beat that by a few days this morning. I was so excited I cried tears of joy! My weight has not started with a 1 since middle school.
I have learned that stalls are normal (although very frustrating) and that my weight loss is definitely a stair stepping loss. I'll hold steady or go up a pound for a week or two (some times longer...) but then will drop 2-5 pounds the next week or two (or more). My food/calorie intake and exercise is no different those weeks it is just the way my body looses and I have learned to accept that - does not mean I have not had day's of feeling very frustrated or wonder what I'm doing wrong.
Coming up to the one year mark I realize my honeymoon stage will be coming to an end soon and I will need to kick things up a notch to continue to loose and then maintain. I'm ready for this challenge. This last year has been absolutely amazing with so many NSV's including gong on a roller coaster with my 13 year old daughter this year, being able to do my Christmas shopping at all the big malls without the fear of getting a close parking spot and hoping there are plenty of benches to take a break at, not having to ask specifically for table at restaurants as I can fit into all the booths now and so many more.
I want to send a special thank you out to all the people on these boards that post their struggles, ideas, victories etc as it continues to remind me that I'm not alone and provides so much inspiration to keep pushing on!! Although each of our journey's are different it's great to have a place to go where I can feel part of a group of people all with the same common goal - to loose the weight holding us down and live a more active and healthy life!
Thank you!
Congratulations!! Great job!
