Cottage Cheese Test
Anything like that is just going to be a guess. If you really want to get an accurate idea, you'll need to see a doctor for a scan.

I am wanting to know how big my stomach is but can not stand the taste of cottage cheese. Does anyone know of an alternative?
Thanks in advanced!!

The cottage cheese test is a joke. It is a slider food like yogurt and you can eat volumes of it. There isn't any test that a person can do to find out what their pouch size is. Stick with dense protein. You need to contact your doctor to find out the size s/he made it.

Again, all "tests" you can do yourself are wild guesses. Best guess? Eat dense protein. Chicken maybe. Nothing else. Weigh precisely how much you can eat at one meal. Dodn't eat too fast, or too slow. See how much you can eat.
Your capacity for eating dense protein or crackers will be wildly different. It's easy to eat around your capacity.

If you want to know the size of your pouch, that's something your Dr could tell you by running tests on you, otherwise it's a guess, however if you want to know the amount your pouch can hold, that's something you can do, but not with cottage cheese. It's a slider food, use dense protein, it won't take long for you to figure out how much it'll hold.

ricotta cheese? But I wouldn't be able to eat it without sweetening it....

I guess I don't understand why anyone needs to know how big their pouch is. I was under the impression that we are supposed to measure our portions out and then stop eating. I don't eat until I feel full. If I did eat until I felt full, I know that I would over eat. I eat only what I measure. I have no idea how big my stomach is and I don't really care. I eat a small amount every three or four hours so I never feel hungry.
Sorry, I'm no help.
I was sick for over 2-1/2 years and have finally gotten better. I remember, back in the day, everyone was doing the cottage cheese test. Even doctors would use it for a cheap way of checking. I do not know if I am eating too much or too little and wanted to test the capacity of my pouch. Looking at older posts (one in particular from 2010) I see that people who can't stand cottage cheese used really mushed up egg salad. It was more of a curiosity thing than a serious medical one :). I don't think I am eating too much but maybe I shouldn't be eating until I feel full if it is too big regardless of what I am eating (carbs/protein/etc). I have been off the program for so long and am just trying to get back to basics and seeing where my body is at this time.
Since June and having stopped my meds I have gained 20lbs.
Thank you for asking :)
